Transfering Sim card to unlocked phone while in US

I am in the U.S. for the next 4 months and my old iphone 8 is dying. I want to buy a refurbished iphone 13 mini down here but I am wondering there will be any difficulty with transfering the Sim card to an unlocked phone while in the US.
