Is there a way to temporarily disable voicemail?

I don't want to remove the voicemail feature.  I just want it so that when someone calls they can't leave a message (they would just get the 'The person you called is not available please try again later' standard greeting).  Is this possible?

I have personal experience in retail myself so I understand the pressure the retail clerks are under.  I had a newer clerk serve me at Walmart.  She did not take the time to explain that it was a 3-1 SIM card.  Thankfully I am very tech savy.
