This would be additional to the Oracle programme and seek to recognize "formal" knowledge useful to forum members.   I suggest this as a way for those who cannot, or choose not, to participate frequently enough to qualify as "Oracles". Each would have a unique avatar so other members can recognize them.   I have in mind a series of quizzes that when answered correctly allow the following rankings to be achieved:   1. FAMILIAR: understands origins of PM; knows what issues must be forwarded to Moderators; understands PM relationship to Telus; understands PM support philosophy; etc.   2. BOFFIN: can assist with phone related issues for 1 operating system (Windows, Apple, Android, Blackberry; can assist with navigating self serve account; understands plan pricing; understands grandfathered vs current plans/support; etc.   3. EXPERT: can assist with phone related issues for, at least,2 operating systems; some understanding of CRTC complaint procedures; complete awareness of personal knowledge limitations; etc.   If PM accepts the concept, I am sure there are members who can create the quizzes. The public mobile orchard link https://publicmobile.getorchard.com/search/index/ does not show as many options for purchase as the normal public site https://www.getorchard.com/ .For example - at this time no iPhone 5S is available and no option to even set an alert to watch for it (grrr).   The publicmobile orchard site only has refurbished phones and I understand the rationale, but given we are a frugal bunch by nature I think we should at least have the option to buy phones in other conditions (at our own risk) and at a discount compared to the general public. ... I set up my parents in public mobile, was a pain in the butt because i had to use their email addresses to talk to the rep for putting in issues. I think it would be nice to be able to set up an administrator for an account. Not all people are able/willing to set up a PM account. My ostentatious wouldn't switch to PM even though it was better for them unless i dealt with it all since they can't just go in to the store and have a rep set it up. But now any time they want to fix a problem it make a change, i have to get them to come over so i can use their email accounts to contact public mobile. It would be better if they had a joint account which i was administrator for so i could deal with any changes for them. ... View more

Sell SIM cards configured with plans (10 day text only for example) that have an active account thus eliminating activation aggravations.   Customers then just log into the self serve account and change the account data to their personal settings. Of course, the only element they must change is the account password if the account uses their shopify email address. ... View more

Understanding that Public Mobile is prepaid service, but it will be really nice if  we can get a formal statement (a statement with Name/Address/phone number and usage) for the plan we sign up, can be 10 days, 30 days, or 90 days.   Why? Because in the perspective of some organizations, the phone statement is one of the evidents to prove that you are living in this province for this certain time, which some individuals may need.    Since Public Mobile already has the usage history available in the Self Service portal, it should be a very easy thing to do (just from a perspective of an IT guy)   Thanks, Leo  ... I think alot of people don't know you can order refurbished phone through your partner Orchard.   You have it buried in your website and its hard to find. You should have a "Phone" tab to the left of Plans.   No one knows about your partner Orchard....I do but I had to search to find it.     ... View more

I understand the style of Public Mobile being self-serve and using the community for help. But, having a number for PM customers to call one day a week will leave everyone with a piece of mind. PM needs to be even more Transparent and also set some concrete timetable in resolution of tech issues and support. These tech issues are certainly building up like plaque on teeth, and every now and then, needs proper cleaning, so does tech support. And more Tech support and faster response can certainly make a fine Difference between insanity and happiness, which is usually measured by success. Maybe PM should introduce E-Chat, Text Chat, YT tutorials on solving minor to Intermediate issues, Open up their FB and Twit pages to better serve their Cherished and more importantly "Precious" Public Mobile Client Constituents more delicately ... Too many new users are bypassing vital (to their sanity) information when staring up with PM.   So, on the Activation page the message: "Make sure your phone works on the Public Mobile network." needs to be in bold, and the message "This tool doesn't tell you if your phone is unlocked." that appears in the 'click Here' box on the Activation page needs to be added to, and in bold, on the IMEI checker page.   Further, the links to the posts:        We’re sorry, we’re experiencing some issues              and Transferring your number to Public Mobile should be on the Activation page AND in the "Our Company is in BETA" banner on the PM website.   BTW: the link here  on the Activation page does not go to the IMEI checker only to an info box.   The Lab seems a strange place these thoughts but Martin has tapped out the correct code on my colander and triggered this reflex posting!  ... First of all the obvious ... This isn't a groundbreaking new idea, but I thought it would be beneficial if Public Mobile had a note on the "Contact Us" page that notified users that often their messages go to the spam inbox in their email systems.  This would help the communication process between PM and its clients, I think some people may be thinking that PM is not contacting them at all, or they are ignoring their emails...    Just a thought...  ... I think you should add a Canada Wide Addon for people with Province wide who only call out of there province once in a blue moon and also for people who only use calling a little bit a month and dont need unlimited so they can choose no calling and then get a 500 min add on for like $25 that they can then use. Kinda like Koodo does but this would be better.  this photo here shows what koodo is doing i want to see something like this with PM i think i would be amazing 🙂  ... View more

I recently broke my phone, I contacted public mobile via Facebook. They informed me that I am able to take my sim card, put it in a friend's compatible phone and forward all calls using the settings menu. I did this, forwarded it to a calling app I have downloaded on my tablet. IT WORKED😁. and it still works after taking my sim card out of the phone! ... my only issue is that I am not able to do this with my sms😟. In self serve on the public mobile website we are able to view the time, date and numbers of our message history, but it doesn't show what the message says. My idea is a menu option in self serve so we can send and receive sms on a Web browser. And/or an option where we can send and receive sms through email. ... View more

For the folks who do not wish to fiddle around with expiry and termination of account dates but wish to retain their "home" phone number, how about an add-on that costs $10/calendar month and is purchased in 3 - 9 month increments. To ease the back end burden I suggest it be a 1 time cost (ie. $30-$90) and take effect IMMEDIATELY. Dead easy for travellers to figure out. Account is dormant during that period and cancelled if no payments received prior to the End Date.   I'm too frugal for this plan, but the options using the regular plans all involve staying in touch with your account within 90 days of expiry. ...
