I am receiving voice messages from what I believe are blocked numbers. Why does this happen?
How can I turn off voice messages completely?

That's why I am wondering if you really want to turn off the option to leave a voicemail in case there are some important messages you don't want to miss like specialist doctor appointment times or family emergency messages etc....where as programming the different conditional and unconditional call forwarding can redirect blocked calls to one specific number ie. "This number is for outgoing calling only." where as others could go to a voip app with voicemail turned off etc... while any of your contacts could still just go to your pm voicemail.

OH, then it sounds like perhaps you have your device set to ring through only those within your Contact list.
Perhaps that is why those other 'non identified' or 'spam' callers went straight through to voicemail.
Just a hunch.

Not all callers. Some are reg folks with identified numbers unanswered by me. Normal.

Glad you found a solution that worked - that's awesome!
Can you confirm, out of curiosity, were ALL CALLERS going to your voicemail, or just some callers?
Just wondering how (or if) that might have been happening to you... thanks.

There are other options that will help eventually lessen the amount of spam calls you get then instead of them still hearing a voicemail message indicating an active phone line they can by redirected to a variety of messages or a fast busy signal etc....or Lenny he's good for a laugh!
Thanks to our resident voicemail expert @Nezgar who has compiled many options to deal with unwanted spam calls.
Here are some of the phone numbers you can program your call forwarding to along with instructions in the original post of this thread and the Lenny thread.

Is there anywhere complete guide to PM's voicemail?
I tried to set up silent greeting but I cannot delete what PM calls 'name' message. It looks like there are two type of recording: one is 'your name' (which me dumb started to record then stopped but cannot delete it) and then actual greeting message.
Bottom line is I want whoever reaches my vmail to hear silence...
HI @Meow do you want this? personalize greeting but with silence
If I understand correctly, you are trying to set a standard greeting message?
- Enter password when prompted
- Press 3 for Greetings options
- Press 1 for Personal Greetings options
- Press 6 to activate standard systems greeting

Are you receiving ANY calls that first ring through audibly before going to voicemail?
If not, check the following:

Blocking numbers is just waste of time.
Unless somebody is really harassing you from particular number, all those numbers you see are spoofed.

@sdthenc : Get into voicemail
press 3
press 4
press 2 and record a greeting
Press 4 to turn on the greeting
Press 5 to turn off the ability to take messages
Exit out.
Edit: You would still get calls. They would still go to voicemail. They just wouldn't be able to leave messages. Or with the backdoor messaging, they wouldn't be able to leave a message.

I would like to turn off voicemails?
Do not need.
I have listened to prompts but nothing leads to **bleep**ting off voicemail? Lol

what your device brand and model ?
and you want to turn off voicemail messages completely, no more voicemail from anyone ?

@sdthenc : Extended Absence Greeting. So you record your greeting saying something like sorry I'm not taking messages here. Text me if you like. Click. You turn on the stop messages option and that's that.
pkaraa brought up the very valid other voice thingy which made me sit up and ask for your clarification. 🙂
Edit: There is an option in the general voicemail system to drop a voicemail on someone without actually calling them. You could test and verify if the extended absence blocks that. I should think it would.

Voicemail via phone calls I think. The service that comes with my package?
02-07-2022 06:06 PM
They are no ring calls straight to my voicemail. That is why I assumed they are blocked. I don’t actually know.
02-07-2022 06:05 PM
@sdthenc : Are you talking about SMS/MMS with a voice recording? Or are you talking about a voicemail message via phone calls?
02-07-2022 06:04 PM
I will try this.
Thank you

HI @sdthenc What you mean t by "believe are blocked numbers." ? did you block the number?
or you just meant those are funny V number on the call display? If it is those V number on the call display, ignore the calls, just caller id spoofing. Very common but annoying way of scam calls
02-07-2022 06:01 PM
Thank you.
They are leaving msgs without it ringing?
How do I turn off voice msgs?
02-07-2022 05:58 PM
When you block a number and they call you then it might give them a busy tone or they go straight to voicemail without ringing. That way they can leave a voicemail for you.
Voicenotes in SMS/MMS is different. It will go in blocked area and you'll get notification.
I have several in my blocked area, once a month I clear everything off.
02-07-2022 05:56 PM
@sdthenc : There is an option in the voicemail system called Extended Absence Greeting. It then opens an option to not allow any messages to be recorded.
02-07-2022 05:55 PM
They might've been call spoofed numbers, keep blocking the numbers.
