@Jaceqc So, activation is completed and your number was successfully ported into PM?
Welcome to Public Mobile, Enjoy the saving
PM's support is fully online. It might sound scary, but no worry, you have the full Community to back you up. Just post any questions you have and you will likely get a reply within minutes!!

Hey, just wanna say THANKS to all!
In the end, I did use Public Mobile Online Activation Assistance to guide me through the process and it went fine, you guys were right though they basically repeated what @softech was saying, they did give me the links to write directly to CS_agent after I had enabled a temporary number that I was able to drop (with the help of the CS_Agent) and have changed to my own. Cool.
I wish the very 1st error message I got this morning was nuanced though (this IS NOT a Canadian valid number), it should let the potential PM customer know that some carrier (such as Koodo Prepaid) may generate this message, wrongfuly...

Even though the Koodo porting eligibility site claims that 819-588-XXXX is not eligible to be ported to Public Mobile, the prefix is listed as in the Sherbrooke rate centre, and is a prefix operated by Telus Mobility, so it should be able to be brought to Public Mobile with CS Agent assistance, which it looks like OP has already engaged, so great!
Here is the details of 819-588 from localcallingguide.com:
And these are all the operators in the Sherbrooke, QC rate centre -- all number prefixes here should be portable between any carrier listed:

ha, don't necessarily agree to that @softech. This link is clearly for Online Activations ONLY. I imagine it could be getting used more now that in-store activations are no longer a thing.

@esjliv Trust me and trust yourself , you are a better support than the "live agent" 🙂
02-13-2023 10:26 AM
@softech - so if I was to go through that online activation portal to activate a prepaid koodo account, you are saying this 'live agent' could not even create the account with a temporary number for the customer?
02-13-2023 10:19 AM - edited 02-13-2023 10:19 AM
@esjliv that form won't do anything.
they will give people the information, like what we are doing here. And they will ask people to do it themselves
If tricker situation, they will ask them to come back to the Community for support, they won't even show them how to submit ticket.. that's the experience I got and I heard all the time

Been there. Got a temporary number, then contacted an agent to complete the transfer.

No, not that one @softech
This one... Public Mobile Online Activation Assistance

@softech - I have never used that online activation tool myself. But I wonder if they can handle this request for Koodo Prepaid?
Guess, we'd only know for sure if someone has tried it before.

@Jaceqc No.
For Koodo prepaid, you will need to get a temporary phone number first, then open ticket with PM support for them to help manually transfer your number

Basically says the number can be transfered...

@Jaceqc - if you back out and try again using another device or browser does it work then?
Or try getting help through that activation portal:
si vous reculez et réessayez en utilisant un autre appareil ou navigateur, cela fonctionne-t-il alors ?
Ou essayez d'obtenir de l'aide via ce portail d'activation :
https://services.telus.com/chat/publicmobile/chat-pm.html?portal=publicmobile&language=fr

@Jaceqc I’m sorry I don’t t understand the French wording , just English and even then I sometimes struggle
02-13-2023 09:55 AM
Says YES

It could be because Koodo Prepiad or you had issue activation earlier:
If you have Koodo Prepaid, you need to first activate with a new number and request the transfer with the help of PM support.
Or if you have activated and failed with an error message, and you are now trying a second time, it could be something blocked in your first attempt. In this case, you need the help of PM support to clear it.

@Jaceqc , also make sure to use incognito mode when doing this just in case. Cached data can sometimes be a problem. To the earlier point, not all Canadian numbers are eligible to transfer into this service.

Check to see if your number can be ported from this Koodo website (Telus owns Koodo and Public Mobile), so, same allowances here:

If still having issues maybe try this link for live online activation: Public Mobile Online Activation Assistance
