Hi, does anyone know (not guessing please) if all Public Sim Cards are 5 G Enabled, or are some not? I bought a Sim card at a Telus shop and I can't get 5G on my Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G phone, while living and travelling in a 5G area.

Samsung s20 fe 5g does NOT support 5g plans. It is not the sim card or the carrier, the issue is with Samsung directly. They have to create and make a specific update to these products to enable the 5g capabilities.

Yes, but it depends on your phone if it supports 5G.

Nothing to do with the sim, but it is a known issue that S20 has problem with Telus 5G network. A bit more details here:

But you can test using the 4G network, the speed should be faster than 100Mbps and near 5G speed if you have a 5G plan

@Yayster Yes the sim cards are all 5G enabled, your problem is more likely to be the phone because it's a common complaint that that particular phone does not get (or at least show) 5G on Public Mobile. The speed should still be good though, have you done a speed test?

all PM sims are 5G enabled...just make sure you got a PM sim from Telus.

@Yayster Yes but note the Samsung s20 will not have 5G option in phone setting with PM however with phone set to LTE being in 5G plan you will still get better speeds of 100mbs of a 4G plan
