3G only on new service

Three days ago I installed my new Sim card and everything has been working great except… I only am getting 3G service wherever I go in the city (Halifax). I bought the 50 GB US Canada plan. My wife has had PUBLIC Mobile for about a year and, she gets a minimum of 4G everywhere she goes. Any suggestions, solutions or thoughts on why this is happening?

Problem solved and thanks to the community to help me with this @hairbag1@golfball , @hTideGnow , @eddieO @Handy1  My settings were on 3G (don’t know why) but reset it and all is good now. THANKS!

hi @Dan-PM try Reset all networks on your phone

if same, try your sim card in another phone if possible

What phone are you using? Knowing that will help us give the most relevant advice as not all phones are fully compatible.

@Dan-PM, if you have confirmed that your phone's setting should be on 5G but are still not getting it try placing your SIM card in your wife's phone and restart the phone, then check if you are connecting at higher speeds. You should also go into your PM account and confirm that you have been signed up for the correct plan.

@Dan-PM  I’m in Halifax too and get 5G no problem . You have to set phone to 5G in phone settings

what kinda cellphone do you use ? Go in to your settings and make sure you select 4G, LTE or 5G...whichever you want thats available.
