The ability for a MOD or employee to add a refer a friend to an account where it existed before but for account fixing situations, a new account was needed.  This may not happen too often but in my case, I set up my account first with a temporary number. After about a week everything seemed to be working so I ported my wife and completed refer a friend (i.e. myself). Everything was working well until I attempted to port my old Rogers number & after several errors, I suspect auto-fill was kind enough to enter the wrong porting number. To cut to the chase, in order to resolve the situation, a fine PM MOD was able to save that number, port the one I wanted but it meant creating a new account for myself which as it turned out didn`t have the refer a friend (as I didn`t think if it & probably wouldn`t have worked as she was now already a customer).  A while later I realized I was no longer getting the refer a friend rewards but apparently it is not technically possible to add this later - even by employee or mods.     ... Suggestion to add a text alert when one is getting close to their data limit.  While I haven`t come close or even remotely close, there are community messages of folks that zoom through their data and an alert would give them chance to stop streaming or look at their use to figure out what is causing it while still have some data left for urgent basic stuff.  I did a search & didn`t see this suggestion. AN alternative which someone has posted as an idea was to cut people back to a slow data for very basic use once they reach their limit or before if it would make the remaining data last longer.  ... Customers that want or require invoices should not need to ask for one each billing cycle. Prepaid or Public Mobile is a business offering a service and charging applicaple taxes including HST in Ontario. What is Public Mobile's HST number? customers are getting confused looking at transaction history, issuing receipts with more information could clearify this. ... View more

the discussion forum is labeled as "A general forum for posts that don’t fit anywhere else." I understood it as a place that isn't necessarily phone service issue related, somewhere that can get the community here talking about anything. However, it may appear that it is still subject to issues with your service. If that is the case, then I suggest there should be one for all other topics. We all have different likes and interests. I figure we could have discussions about a whole range of off-topics (outside of politics as there is no good that can come from that) like sports, tv/movies, vacation plans/tips, music, etc. Maybe it'll generate more traffic to these boards - the general population only visits for negative reasons. I hope PM Will have some way of being able to Collect and Hear PPL's Thoughts and feedback's on things like Ideas, Issues, what's good, Bad, Ugly, Up's, Down's Left and Right, all that, as PM could be better positioned for such wonderful attributes ... View more

I think that IF PM HAD AN Actual TROUBLESHOOTING Folder, LISTING ALL The MOST Common Issues, APN, Tethering, Etc. That may help PPL more readily, and perhaps cut down on all the Q&A Thng a bit. Sometimes having JUST a Separate Troubleshooting Folder having ALL The Common Issues and Solutions IN ONE Folder can save PPL the Hassle of having to Dig Deep into the Layers, and Simplify the Process ... Please, increase limit for a City name field length in registration (SIM activation) forms. Currently it is only 20-21. For your information, there are lots of cities with names much longer than this (for example, list of towns in Québec).   Being a web developer myself, I can't think of any reason for such restrictions: it's a very user-unfriendly practice. Filling out complex web forms is already a stressful job. Why create additional stress by asking your clients to shorten a legitimate city name (if they happen to live in Sainte-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson, for example)?   There you are, a quick and easy way to improve your website UX (user experience) - increase a city name field limit - and make registration with PM a little bit easier! ... I tried calling a number by manually dialing the numbers ( a rare thing now adays)  anyway I got a shock when i heard the automated message saying "calling is not part of your plan..."  hung up and dialed the number again this time  no issues.   I compared the numbers I dialed and realised that I left out a digit the first time I called.   So to conclude PM should change the message to the typical "the number you have dialed can not be completed a dialed".     I know its not a high priority and other things are more important, but thought it shoud be brought up anyway. ... I think one on the biggest frustrations people have with the online  support is that they don't when their tickets will be answered nor do they have an ETA.    A simple solution since tickets are responded to on first come first answered, I think it would be great if mods could post on a sticky thread, on an hourly-ish basis,  we are working on tickets received on date x and at time x.   This would reduse customer  frustration, multiple posts and even thread is in community saying I have not heard back.   @       ... Special characters (É, Ç etc.) in top navigation menu are not displayed properly on PM Community website . Top menu links on a general website are OK  but there are same problems in a drop-down menu on "Where to buy PM payment  vouchers" page (in "select your city" for Quebec). Ok, I am lazy I haven't checked if this has been suggested before....   When a new thread is opened and a question is asked by someone allow them to turn off commenting on their thread. This way, the thread doesn't get hijacked from another member for another question. I've seen this a lot of times.   Or even better: As soon as an answer is marked as "Solution" by the thread opener the commenting should be stopped. There is no more need for comments if the right answer has been given.   This way people also think more often about accepting answers as solutions and so threads are getting marked as solved. For us who check the new threads every day we save time because we don't have to go in. ... View more
