Shelli321 those are good suggestions for activating a new account and I remember reading those instructions but I also got some help from the personal who referred me. Mariogi needs to change the simcard to a new one which needs to be done in the account by going to the profile link.

Just follow the instructions that were included with your SIM card. Do all of this on your computer. Then the process is fairly simple to port over your current cell phone number to Public mobile. Remember to answer "YES" when prompted by your old cell phone provider that you want to port over.
When I ported over, I took too long to respond to the text and it was cancelled.

login 5o My Account on a desktop and laptop only (don't do it on Mobile, there is glitch with mobile site)
Click Change sim card from Quick Link on top right and follow the steps

If you’re changing your SIM card on an already active public mobile account, log into the self-serve site and go under the change SIM function.
If you’re a brand, new customer, tap the activation button at the top of the page.
