Now that we are about to get screwed by Public Mobile I am thinking about reducing my base plan costs. I’ll never use 50GB a month (presently at 750kb two weeks into my term) so 5 or 10 GB should be fine.
I can create a new $24 account but can I port my number from my $34 account or do I need to port it to another carrier first?
if I need to port it out first I think I might just go to the Lucky Mobile $29/25GB plan, which is about the same cost as my $34 plan minus loyalty bonus.

No, you cannot port number from one PM account to other PM account.
If you want to take advantage of any promos for new customers you would have to open brand new account and close existing. You would lose your current account in that case.
BUT if you can see desirable plan when you log in to your account, just schedule plan change on next renewal and new plan with new charge will be then in effect.

You can't port directly from PM account to PM account.
And at this point, if you are porting to another provider anyway, might as well go for the best offer for your situation and stay there? At least that's how it'll go down with 95% of our accounts.

no need to port...just schedule a plan change for next renewal...BOOM...done
ignore me...I see that $24 plan is for new activations only.
