Hi. I will be overseas for 114 days and will be pausing plan for 89 days. On the 89th day I will re-activate plan but will not be using my phone until my return on day 114. Since there will be no activity, will my phone number stay acive? Thank you.

when you pay your regular plan renewal..service lasts for 30 days. At day 31 your plan will Suspend and you have 90 days grace to resume service by paying. Without payment in 90 days, your plan will be deactivated.
Just before you leave Canada, manually load $$ to your account to pay for next renewal, but disable SUBSCRIBE. That successful renewal will last for 30 days...after which your 90 days grace period starts. Hence you'll have a minimum of 120 days...maybe more depending on when last successful renewal expired.
Hope this makes sense.

hi @OMD1
you actually first pause for 90 days and the pay before the end of the 90 days (do not wait till 89th days, sometimes there is problem with login, payment, or system down. Try to pay to resume as early as 80th or no later than 85th days, give yourself some flexibility)
to lay you the dates for your activities for suspension period, and payment, can you give us these:
1. what is the end of your current cycle
2. when you are making the trip
3, when are you back to Canada?

I am new here and trying to understand how this works. I believe both csa_pm and hairbag1 recommend paying 30 days at the beginning and then kick in with the 90 day afterwards. My question is, why not first pause for 90 days and then pay for 30 days at the end? Would this option also keep my number active?

Hi. Thanks for your reply. If I understand you correctly, you recommend starting a new 30 day paid cycle before the 90-day pause period rather than after it. Is there an advantage to this option? I was thinking that if I paused the plan first for 90 days and then reactivated it (which would be about 15 days before my return) then I could use my phone for part of the 30 day paid period. Do you see a problem with this option? Also, does pausing the plan change the billing cycle?

Hi
Thanks for your option. That is another excellent choice as well..

The number can remain under suspension for up to 90 days starting from the unpaid renewal date. If you need to keep it longer, I recommend starting a new cycle just before you leave. This will keep the number active for another 30 days. Then, cancel the automatic payment—once the new renewal date arrives, the number will go into suspension again for another 90 days. In total, this gives you up to 120 days.
Won't this cause the plan to renew earlier than regular scheduled...forfeiting any balance talk/text/data that is in current renewal ?
Alternative is to disable Subscribe but load sufficient $$ into Available Funds to cover regular plan renewal. Then next scheduled renewal will occur funded by those $$ in Available Funds. Plan will be active for 30 days then Suspend (due to non-pay). OP should be home well before his plan deactivates.

I thought I’d also add that the 90-day countdown starts on the next renewal date after you toggle “Subscribed” off, not on the day that you actually toggle it off.

As long as you pay the bill before 90th day your account will stay with PM and you will not lose your number.
I would suggest to log in on 85th day and pay the bill in case PM site is off line or similar. So then you have few days to pay the bill before 90th day.

as long as your account paid before 90 days suspended, you'll keep the number..even if you don't use it.
