And the same this is happening today.  Turned off and on airplane mode as well as the cellular data. Works for a few minutes and then cuts out.

Any ideas????

  • I have been using PM for a year and a half with no issues, until now. Twice this month I have not been able to connect to mobile data unable to send or receive messages unless connected to wifi. I have an actual Sim card tried all the tricks. What is happening?

Hi all.

Thought I posted here, but dont see it.

I removed my SIM card (physical) while phone is on. Had to restart, and then worked for me.

If you have an eSIM could try turning off/disconnecting Public Moble one for 30 sec or so, (don't delete it) and then restart to see if that helps. eSIM worked for my wife.

I'm in Alberta, I've not had Data for a while and all the settings settings suggested and the airplane mode and wifi assist turn off doesn't do squat. They need to get their act together and nake sure that the registered number is allowing Data on their network. I'm porting my number over to another provider. Tired of dealing with automated clowns and gremlins in their network. Fix the your Network!!!!!

I have the same issue as posted. Doesn't work. Airplane Mode off, Wifi assist off. Get us help with this it's not the phone it's your crappy network that blocks Data access.

@Kelly58

This seems to be a problem for a few members for the last few days.

Contact a CS_Agent for a refund:

@Kelly58

you'll need to start by clicking the orange chat bubble on lower right side of the page to start the process  for Customer Support.

adding...if that doesn't work for you, use this link to dm Customer Support and request credit to your acct rather than refund.

Reboot phone and Reset network settings.  It will then resolve the problem

tried it. it is still the same. so now either i use my data all the time or reboot my phone ever time i go out somewhere.

Seems like there is more widespread network problem happening. More threads here and in the public Mobile subreddit popping up about intermittent data loss.

I noticed mine wasn't working all day yesterday either, same with my brother and we both have Public Mobile. I'm not sure if this was the solution, but this morning I just went into general management > reset network settings and restarted my phone and now it appears to be working for me

I should have added - Nothing I have done to troubleshoot has worked, reset phone, changed APN settings, toggled airplane mode, reset wireless network option - Seems like a Public Mobile problem - I rely on data and have not been able to use it for 2 days now.

Same in Cambridge Ontario. Support has been good with communication, but no details/fix as of yet.
Ask has been to check APN for Public Mobile.

I am in the same boat - Ontario.  Data is either intermittent, or not working at all - Seriously concerned with the service.

@Ken19

in your cellphone settings, disable Wifi Assist....see if that helps.

Same here, southern Ontario, been happening all morning. I'll have data and suddenly will lose it. Still strong network and can text and call. Only a phone reset or toggling airplane mode a few times fixes it.

i restart my phone. then i have data but when i turn on my wifi the data turns off and won't reconnect . until i turn off wifi and restart my phone? any one have a reply. this is getting annoying. every time the phone connects to wifi.

@Tom2211

where are you located....seems there's some on-going issues in the province of Manitoba....you there ? How about talk and text...they ok ?

Tom2211

Obviously there is an issue with public mobile data services because multiple people have no data. I tried everything with restarting the phone, network, etc. Did anyone find a solution or answer to this issue?

@HAVENSMommy

log in to your acct using the app, look for Usage Breakdown to see current plan status. Can you confirm if talk / text are working still ?

hi @HAVENSMommy

are you in Manitoba?  Not sure if you are impacted

But check Telus outage map

Also, try Reboot phone and click Reset network settings

I pay for 3 months of service at a time and am supposed to have unlimited data. Yesterday my data stopped working. Please help.

@LexiLou29

that sounds more like a cell issue if restarting helps sometimes. Does he have a different cell to put his sim in it to test. (ignore this suggestion if using esim).

added...tell him to try 4G/LTE instead of 5G.
