New activation. US-Canada 50Gb/5g subscription. Now in US. Data and text work fine. Not able to make calls. Immediately hangs up. What is wrong?

If the issue is VOLTE not being enabled on your device for any of the reasons mentioned above then the workaround for voice calls for areas not serviced by T-Mobile's soon to be retired 2G network would be to download a voip provider app such as textnow and choose a Canadian phone # to be able to make voice calls using the 4G LTE network (mobile data).
If needed call your own phone # and after voicemail picks up press * and enter your voicemail PIN# to access your messages and/or change your greeting to include your voip phone #.
Call forwarding your Public Mobile phone # when "unreachable" to your voip # may or may not be possible in the US or in Canada (not sure what call forwarding options are for VOLTE enabled vs non-enabled customers since VOLTE was introduced by Public Mobile.)
Maybe @Nezgar can clarify the above statement?

In your settings, manually connect to T-Mobile or AT&T network. Also enable VoLTE.

@Allan_B Set phone to 4G/LTE not 5G and try T mobile AT&T or Verizon . Also what phone you have ? If it’s not on the PM voLTE whitelist you most likely won’t be able to make phone calls
VoLTE white list

is your current cellphone on this volte whitelist ?

hi @Allan_B what phone do you have?
it might be a problem with VoLTE if your phone is not on PM's whitelist
try connect to only T-Mobile and see wt network mode to 2G and see if it works
if not, you might need to make calls using some VoIP app like TextNow as a workaround

Did you try to manually connect to PM partners? AT&T and T-mobile ?
