plan upgrade - will I lose promotion?

I have a 5gb plan with 3g + an unlimited 2gb promotion that was available when I signed up with Public Mobile. If I upgrade my plan to a 4 or 6 gb plan with 4g, will I lose the additional 2gb promotion?

yes, I've been pleasantly surprised by their customer service, they will keep me us a client for long!

@pancha you are lucky!!!!

 

and I hope we didn't get the first Agent in trouble..lol

That's honourable of them. Yes we heard from a higher up company person that the promo would not transfer from 3G to 4G. I guess this agent got the memo.

important update! I replied the agent asking for the upgrade and they answered that the other agent had made a mistake telling me that, and you're supposed to lose the bonus if you change your plan. But that they would honor what they told me first.

@pancha   glad you got the clear confirmation.   Please keep the message as a proof , just in case  🙂

Yes, this was their reply:

 

If you upgrade your current $40 plan @ 3G to any 4G plan, you will keep the promo.

If you have more questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Bonus data will expire if the account becomes inactive or the rate plan is changed. 

 

and basically all 2GB bonus promo has this

 

Don't trust us, we are only customers like you.  Trust CS Agent.  Message them and ask.  If any agent say you can change plan without problem, you have that as a proof in case there is argument

I would also check the announcement thread related to the specific promo. And all the fine print in Self-Serve "Plan Details". Sometimes they explicitly define conditions, restrictions, and options attached to the promo bonus.

@pancha   Upgrading plans shouldn't lose you your promo data.  We've had one customer who has asked CSA and got confirmation that they won't lose their promo in this thread:  https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Get-Support/Switching-Plans-and-Previous-Promos/td-p/...

@pancha   very likley you will loss it

 

All those  extra 2GB activation bonus has a term saying you will loss it if you change your plan.  We heard people loosing that even with a plan upgrade

 

And, we are just all customers here and try to advise to our best knowledge, so,  I suggest you to open ticket with PM Support to get an official response

Start by typing "Submit a ticket", then click "Contact Us", Then click "Other", then click "Click here to submit a ticket ↗" 

2. If you don't have access to My Account or have trouble with Chatbot: Private message CS Agent at:

**Monitor your Community inbox (envelope icon on the top right) after the ticket is opened.  CS Agent will reply you there
