Hi Guys,
I have just upgraded my plan from 4g speed to 5g this month but my phone shows that It is still on LTE, not 5g. I'm wondering why.

HI @Tacodestroyer

Sydney has 5G coverage

Make sure your iOS is updated, make sure Carrier Profile is updated, then try to Reset Network settings on your iPhone and check network mode again

If still don't see 5G there, please submit ticket with agent

Thanks for your advice.

I'm living in Sydney, NS and it is in the 5g coverage map.

HI @Tacodestroyer

which city you are in ? you sure that has 5G there?

Also, you might need to submit ticket with agent for them to confirm.  Some people in other networks say provider might need to flag the account for 5G

@Tacodestroyer Maybe try resetting  network settings . LTE will still give you 5G speeds . But your absolutely correct iPhone 13 is 5G capable device not sure why it’s not showing up in your settings.

Thanks to you guys who replied to my question, I have checked the settings of my phone there is no 5g option for me to enable the network, but my iPhone 13 is a 5g support device, so what else I can do?

The plan does not magically give you 5G. The phone needs to be able to use it and you have to be in area of 5G coverage and 5G has to have been made available by the provider and the manufacturer for your device. Also, you won't see a 5G indicator until you turn on cell data. It otherwise waits on LTE.

@Tacodestroyer

what is your data speed with LTE ?  Check using speedtest app

https://www.speedtest.net/apps

Since you have a 5G plan, you should get a speed over the capped 4G speed of 100Mbps

Some phone like iPhone has a battery saving setting to only use 5G when needed, so the phone could be on LTE most the time and only 5G occasionally

@Tacodestroyer  Is your phone 5G compatible? Select your network to 5G also note that even in 4GLTE you will still enjoy 5G speeds
