Since Canada wide calling is in your plan, I would consider messaging @CS_Agent. Something might be wrong on your account. They can check what’s going on. That’s probably your best option.

@Whit4d19 manually select Public Mobile on the Network Connection
if that does not help and if you have another phone around, Put the PM sim in the other phone. It could force a sim re-provision and could resolve your problem

@Whit4d19 - are you on an older provincial plan? If so, you can purchase a 500 minute canada wide calling addon. OR, even better schedule to change your plan on next renewal (as all inmarket plans now are canada wide calling.
If you are already on a canada wide calling plan, then has any of the suggestions helped at all? If still issues and your account is ACTIVE, and texting and data works, then ask CSA to fix your account. Ways to contact CSA below:

2-go to your envelope at the top right of your Community Account which is where your Inbox and Sent messages are. Select the orange/peach color box with the pencil inside it to start a new message. Type CS_Agent in the SEND TO box. This will create a private message to Public Mobile Customer Support (link is provided in #3 below as well).
3 -Use this link (same as #2) Private Message to Public Mobile Customer Support Agents (CSA)

If you are close to the border, check if the Network connection on your phone picked up US network. If so, change to manual and pick Public Mobile
If you are nowhere close to US, try to turn off the phone for 5 mins, then power up and try again

Hi @Whit4d19 if you are calling Canada but yiu got a recoding saying you need a roaming addom , that is just a funny glitch. Just reboot the phone and try again. Try to put a 1 in front of the number you are calling

Where are you trying to call? All current PM plans include Canada-Wide calling but do NOT include any ability to call out of the country. To do that you need the add-on that applies to the country you are calling. For example, there’s a 1000 minute Ld plan for calling the US.

'Long distance' ? DO you mean you cannot call Canada's provinces? Or other countries?

@Whit4d19 Are you putting a 1 in front of the contact . Or are you trying to call outside of Canada ? If so you need a long distance add on and these are the country’s they include
United States, China, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Italy, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, and Venezuela
Countries included in international long distance include: Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Venezuela. Calls must originate from Canada. Any unused minutes will roll over to your next cycle.

International long distance? The regular plan itself does not include LD minutes. Where you are trying to call? PM system can only call small number of countries and you need to have the appropriate LD add-on to call
