They won't let you refund

Hi does anyone here have tried asking for a refund? I tried buying a 40gb data and it expired yesterday.

I didnt get to use it properly sometimes its unusable. 

i didnt get a notification that my data is going to be renewed and i was charged $47.25 and  now I'm trying to get a refund they said I can't get a refund back.

  • when you activated here, you would’ve had to input a credit card for the initial payment to begin service. 
  • by doing that, you also agreed to auto renewal.
  • the only way to stop that (without customer support agent support, or cancelling the card) is to turn off the subscription so it will not auto renew.
  • you didn’t do that, therefore Public Mobile fulfilled its obligation to renew your plan.

 You’re ineligible for a refund, sorry. 😔

@jdporte  It sounds like this is what you bought, which is a call, text and data cell phone plan.  It will just keep auto-renewing until you stop it.

there is NO data only plan here.  You activated an subscription and the Autopay is enabled with all subscription.

Like any subscription or service, you are responsible to understand the cancel it before renewal.

Please login My Account, Payment, Manage Subscription and turn off Subscribed so PM won't charge you again

Yes it is with public mobile, I purchased a one time 40gb of data last month. I was referred to public mobile since i needed a data only and have no funds at the moment to afford a phone line.

And today i've been trying to ask for a refund of $47.25 from public mobile since i was surprised that it has charged me

oh roaming, so you have the Canada-US plan?

did you try to change to regular Canada plan or want to leave PM completely?

it is easier to ask agent to change plan, and they will.  Asking for full refund because you are leaving PM is next to impossible

 

Oh! You're talking about roaming. Are you still in the states? You can choose between AT&T or T-Mobile when set to 4G LTE. 5G only seems to work on T-Mobile. Coverage always varies like here. Public has no control over roaming coverage.

@jdporte  Are you sure it was with Public Mobile?  There is no data only plan that I know of (unless it was an add-on?).  Do you have a basic PM account also?  An add-on wouldn't auto-renew.

there is no 40GB data addon, you meant you cannot use text or calls? 

What phone do you have? did you try click Reset All networks?

Hi, what i mean by unusable is sometimes when i have my data open it goes away and it takes time for it to come back and have data working. 

I bought a one time data only, no text or call.

Yes, the policy here is no refunds. But usually they can be quite accommodating. How do you mean "unusable"? Do any other services work like talk and real sms texting?

Refund can be received if you bought incorrect add-on or if add-on did not work at all.

For plans accidentally switched to you can try.
Purchased plans are non refundable.

Any issue with plan/account should be reported through ticket or direct contact with agent.

Just type ‘ticket’ and follow prompts. Having a ticket is preferred way to contact agent as they might respond faster then receiving personal mail.

If opening a ticket does not work very first time, contact agent directly: send a private message to the CSA - agent by clicking (Ctrl+) Here

first, we are just customers like you

and you were not buying a 40GB data but it is about plan renewal?  What is the issue? you don't want to renew?  Like any service, you are responsible to make sure no auto renewal set and it is normal PM not refunding.  But if you just want a different plan instead , usually agent can swtich plan.  But for refund, yes, it is normal as PM is prepaid and no refund

if you no longer want to renew more, please login My Account, Payment , Manage Subscription and disable Subscribed so PM won't renew again 30 days later
