@farmbot if you have any friends on other networks in your area, Telus/Rogers/Bell , compare their speed. not sure if it is a general issue in your area.
08-23-2022 10:18 PM
Yes and No
Inside the house speed maxs 2Mbs/second
Open field with line of sight to Telus cell tower 9 km away 20Mbs/second
Lte is a function of signal strength so perhaps a booster in house would help.
Mostly I need the internet outside so it is an improvement.
Somewhat disappointed that I don't get full throttle but it will surffice.
Anyho in urban centers should now be warp 2.0 now rather than warp 1.0

@farmbot- and solid bars, nice. Would you be willing to share your ticket number here so that future customers with similar problems could point to your ticket and say here. Do this.

Best speed now after CSA help in open line of sight to Telus tower 9 km away
✔️

Yes signal strength is most important for LTE speed.
Still it did not explain all the problems with download speed
Worked all morning with CSA and with some work at the Telus backend the signal is more stable now and above 10Mbs/second
Distance and obstacles in cell tower signal path degrade the speed.
I'm Ok with 10Mbs/sec at my rural location although that is in open field with no obstructions. Signal show now 3-4 bars in open field as per 1-2 before adjustment on Telus end.
Inside house more like 2Mbs/sec
CSA worked some magic behind the scenes to stabilize the LTE.
OK with response from Publicmobile

@farmbot- I say 1 bar because that's what I see on your image. Interesting that it sits idle on two bars when your data is off for your wifi test.
08-23-2022 12:19 AM
Same phone over wifi Taber fiber optic home internet.
Thats FAST.
I need 1/10 of that over publicmobile data to be happy.
08-23-2022 12:18 AM
@farmbot yes, your phone is not the issue, you have enough bands compatible with PM.
let us know how it turns out after you open the ticket

Ulefone x9 pro
In use fro 5 monthe on public Mobile
No data issues before ugrade plan to 4G
Old plan used same LTE just governed at Telus end.
I think the unthrottling has created a unstable signal
I open a ticket tommorow..
Chow for now.
🤔
08-23-2022 12:10 AM
@farmbot What brand and model is your phone?
08-23-2022 12:10 AM
Why 1 bar in the town of Taber???
Telus tower is 2 km max?
Speedtest fluctuated between 0.4-5.9Mbt/sec
Plus latency was up to 400
Ouch!!
i open a ticket tommorrow
08-23-2022 12:04 AM
@farmbot- I see one bar. Not a lot of network to hold on to. Could be why.
08-23-2022 12:00 AM
This is "unthrottled" 4 G in Taber Alberta.
I have been on new 4 G plan since Aug 1.
No change.
I open a ticket tommorrow.
Rebooted and cleared network.. no change
Something wrong on public's end.
😑

When was the last time you powered off your phone completely? If you have not done so, since the plan change, I would start with a full reboot.
Other things to try:
08-22-2022 03:00 PM
I thinks Telus not unlocked throttle.
I'm going to urban setting ie.Taber Alberta this afternoon and test there.
Report back later tonight.
08-22-2022 02:53 PM
HI @farmbot that does not look good
I will try to test it in another area from where you are now
or you can also try to Refresh Network settings. But be aware that it will wipe your Wifi password as well and you have to rejoin the Wifi
08-22-2022 02:50 PM
I been unthrottled 4 G LTE since Aug 1 new plan.
What is happening in south Alberta today??
Slower than a 🐢
This is unacceptable.
08-22-2022 11:32 AM
Speed increase will show up after 48 hours after switching from 3G to 4G.
08-22-2022 11:22 AM
@mrigney just like when you sign up it takes a couple of days to get the speed assigned. So when you signed up yo0u would have been getting full LTE until it was throttled and when you switch your plan to 4G you will still get throttled speed for upto 72 hours until the restriction is removed

How long ago did you switch? It seems to take upwards to 2 days for it to increase the speed. Watch those speedtests, they suck down a lot of data.

HI @mrigney how long you have made the change? Be aware that it could take up to 48 hours for the new speed to kick in. So, please try again later
