I recently seen an Oracle take on a matter about someone accepting their own Response as a Solution to their Thread before, literally from the OP Account.
If this is a problem, and isn't allowed amongst The Community why isn't It removed as an option, I mean we aren't able to Bravo our own Responses.. why don't they remove the 'Accept As Solution' Option from our own Responses?
I don't really understand why it's there if it's not allowed to be done? Is it for special matters, as for when someone maybe figured out their own issue and replied with the proper Solution before someone else did?
Just curious about this...
Solved! Go to Solution.

I have so far avoided giving myself the solution even if I find the answer to my question.
thanks for flagging.
Self-solution removed and proper solution re-assigned

I know what you mean - there is no provision for a member to help others by posting a solution to a common question. You can only post it but obviously can not give the solution to another posting on your help solution.

@Nezgar Khoros actually is quite customizable itself, just PM does not use all its features

Since this is a forum service operated by a 3rd party "Khoros" - there literally may not be a configurable feature to turn off self-solutions. Khoros would have to develop it... You can see the logo in the bottom right of most of the pages in this forum...

There have also been several cases of members starting new threads for the sole purposes of assigning a solution to one's self (or another family member's accont). Such self solutions are often pre-planned and often don't have a question to be answered or are questions that the member already knows the answer to. Several members have also been caught asking the same questions numerous times and then assigning solutions to the other accounts participating in this gaming. Gaming is a violation of this website's terms of service. Whether an OP's own post does even up being the solution, the OP should never be the member assigning it.

@Priority , I have wondered the same as to why the option shows up. It’s preferred to not mark a solution if one isn’t given. Sometimes Oracle's will mark deserved solutions on posts where one isn’t selected. Self solutions is not allowed nor is Customers bravoing their own posts using one of their other accounts (gaming the system) yet they still do it until they’re caught & banned! People’s dishonesty ruins it for others unfortunately.
Just do the best you can with an open mind & heart. 😃 We all learn from each other.

on the rare occasion that someone solves their own question in a unique way...a self solution is acceptable. The Oracles seem to be the arbiters of the self solutions though. 🤓
added...I reckon it's a tool to minimize "gaming the system".
