Roaming not working in the US new plan, on road trip and no wifi!

Just left for road trip in the US with the family and can’t access any data even if it shows full bars and 5G. Nothing is working except for texts once in a while. Can’t even get google to work. Roam is turned on. I have an iPhone. Can’t seem to be able to submit a ticket either. I have the US Can plan for $34 with 50GB data, bought 3 days ago. Help!

Public mobile

Whether in Canada or the US, this plan includes unlimited calling, text, picture and video and messaging to phone numbers within and between Canada and the US. Data can be used in both Canada and the US.

Calls to 411, 511, Reedly, California (559-726-XXXX), Carroll, Iowa (712-775-XXXX), Lake Park, Iowa (712-432-XXXX), Charles City, lowa (641-552-XXXX), Pine Ridge, South Dakota (605-562-XXXX), Redfield,South Dakota (605-475-XXXX), and Fort Thompsons, South Dakota (605-477-XXXX) are not included.

@Meli829   Great that it's working now!  For future reference only AT&T and T-Mobile work for Public Mobile roaming, Verizon is not a PM roaming partner.

This worked! Thanks so much. It was stuck on automatic and Verizon. Works so much better on AT&T !

Hey @Meli829

Are you using an Android or iPhone? Let me know and I'll show you a step by step on how to fix it.

@Meli829

Critical part to US roaming depends on T-Mobile/AT&T coverage and whether you can connect successfully onto either network.

If the phone is not connecting to T-Mobile/AT&T, change the Network Connection from Automatic to Manual and select and test both T-Mobile and AT&T and see which one you can connect.

If your issue is with data, make sure your Roaming Mobile data is enabled and you have disabled your mobile data limiter.  Also change your network mode to 4G (and don't try 5G until you can connect and works on 4G)

If your issue is with voice, make sure VoLTE is enabled on the device setting.  And if it does not work, try to change the Network to T-Mobile ONLY, and change  Preferred Network Type or Network Mode to 2G and see if the calls go through.
Also, you can download VoIP app TextNow as a workaround to make calls and text if you have Wifi or if your roaming has data component and data  is working

@Meli829  Try phone set to 4G/LTE  not 5G and connect to T mobile or AT&T
