Please Explain What Happened To My Accumulated Reward Points

SimonClews

I know there were recent changes to the monthly rates, but I didn't pay a lot of attention because I kept paying what I always paid until today, when I was charged $16.80 ($15 plus tax) for my monthly rate - an 87.5% increase.  I checked my reward balance, which showed $15 for a net owing amount of $0 (all before tax) for the new month which starts today, so I didn't understand why I had been charged anything this month.  There was a $15 in green showing as my accumulated points dollar value and what appeared to be a button that would allow me to redeem my points.  So I figured "Oh, I have to actually redeem them.  They aren't automatically redeemed". Before redeeming them, I searched the community content and saw that once you accumulated $15 in points you could redeem them, but it wouldn't happen automatically. So I went back to rewards thinking I would redeem the $15 worth of points and get my next month's service (July) for "free", but when I got back to my accumulated rewards had changed from $15 to $6.  What's going on?

Technically this seems only correct with the date of the anniversary of signing up for public points. But who's splitting hairs at this point, we've all been bamboozled.

I also lost all point system I had before.  I was on the $34 a month plan and paint $23 a month for sharing my code and being with public mobile for the last 3-4;yrs.

Yup, classic bait-and-switch. Time to say goodbye to Public Mobile.

... make that another year before I can redeem $.  It looks like with this new rip off billing system I only get 1 point a month now.

It shows $6 which comprises a "welcome present" of 5 points and 1 point for one refer a friend.  I guess I no longer get any points for having my credit card on file with Public Mobile so they can apply the monthly charge automaticall,y or for loyalty (each year I'm with Public Mobile I used to get $1 off my monthly bill).  So with no changes it will be another year or so before I can redeem the points?

I can confirm for you that there is no longer any discount for using autopay, and there is no longer any loyalty discount given every 30 days.  To redeem points for bill credits, you'll need to wait until you have 15 points.

Yes, I know that now.  I have not redeemed any points since they switched the billing calculation last March.  My problem is that the first time I looked I had $15 in redeemables and was shown a green button I could have clicked to redeem them for what I assume would have been a credit toward my next bill payment on July 10.  I didn't take notes, but it looks like I had accumulated lots of points since March 2024.  I should have done that, because when I left my rewards page to get more info and came back, the redeemable $ amount had changes from $15 to $6, So I can't redeem them for I guess another 3 months till I get to more than $15 (assuming I don't buy any add ons, refer ay friends, etc.).  What I want to know is: where did the $12 disappear to?

Doesn't answer my question

Mine is missing the 10 points per year of account holder status.

You will not receive any points for “account holder status”. You will receive 10 points annually on the date of the anniversary of your initial sign-up with Public Mobile.

It is not automatic, you need to redeem. Your points balance and your account $ balance are 2 different numbers.

Check how many points you have and how if you have any $ in your account balance. Also check your points history to see any points you have earned or redemed and see if the number are matching up.

Go to your rewards page and scroll down, what do you see in this area:

Yes, you will need to manually redeem them. Login to the PM app and go to the Rewards tab and it will have you current rewards points.

Once you redeem the points then go to Payment tab>View Upcoming Payment Breakdown…it will show the credit on your monthly plan.

HI @SimonClews

yes, you need to manually redeem it.  You login to My Rewards site and check the Rewards Catalogue to look for $15 bill credit, then choose it

After you choose it, it will be showing as a credit of $15 in your My Account within 48 hours.  Maybe you need to wait a bit longer

Also, to avoid cache problem, login My account and the rewards site again using Incognito/private/secret mode on your browser.  Then check the transaction and it should show.  If that does not look correct, can you post a screentshot of the rewards transaction?
