PM sending texts to opt into $50 Can/US plan

Similar to how the holiday bonuses are handled as well as the $40/15GB offer, I just received a text from PM to ask if I wanted to switch to the $50/40GB Can/US plan. I already scheduled the change for next renewal, but it's interesting to see PM get a bit more aggressive with this plan.

And of course I expect some inquiries from customers who reply "yes" but didn't realize what they were committing to.

at least for now, those rumours that PM will be gone  are not true. Telus has been aggressively upgrading PM into a Tier 2.5 provider , I guess.  But I don't think Koodo will be out

And while some criticize  Telus  is only interested in squeezing more profile out of PM, we should acknowledge the fact that PM is giving us all these better value plans

I am not sure if Koodo will be gone.

But to Telus, not bad the idea, it costs less to run PM (no sales commission, no kiosk to run, and a message only helpdesk)

It has been making me wonder for a while now, if there is a broader plan to phase out Koodo (assuming their efforts pay off in the PM space).

seems like PM is positioning itself slightly different from its previously Tier 3 provider role.  the 5G rollout before Koodo was a bold move.  And from then, the different promo plans are competing directly with Fido/Virgin/Freedom.

Yeah I'm still surprised by how the value of these plans have improved so significantly from just 1 year ago. It was good timing too, because I was over the 3G throttling and was considering other options anyway. Turns out I didn't need to, because not only did they re-launch 4G in the last year, we also have 5G now (overkill for me, but a great option nonetheless).

Great plan, indeed! Especially for those like myself who live 10 minutes from the US border.

I scheduled the plan change at next renewal within an hour of the plan coming available 😜 Unfortunately I missed my renewal date by a day, so it won't change until the 13th. But I have a travel esim for the time being anyway. 

@DennyCrane  Good point . I’m just amazed at how the plans are so great this summer . Typically it sept and Black Friday you see these sorta offerings . So I’m optimistic this sept could see something better or this and the 90GB 90 day returns again

But honest, it is a great plan

I'm making an assumption that they'll extend it, just based on how aggressively they're pushing it. Or maybe it will got away for a few days and then come back.

I guess it largely depends on the level of interest in it.

Wow. And in the hands of kids. I really don't like these methods of upselling for that fact. I takes the spending control and features control out of the hands of the parent.
But hey, there's an end date. Maybe the plan will be removed then.
