I just checked my credit card statement and I was charged my regular fee of $22.60 early in the statement and then $28.25 at the end of my billing period. Why two charges this month? This is $28.25 more than usual for me.
My husband was charged $4.52 extra in the first fee and then another $28.25 later in the billing statement. This is $32.77 extra for him this month.
What’s going on?

@LO-C If you're on the $25 plan with 1GB at 3G speed you might want to log in to your account and change to the $19 with 1GB at 4G speed plan which is unadvertised. If you go with that make sure to select change on renewal and not change now otherwise you will lose the remainder of your current plan which would not be pro-rated.

Most legacy rewards customers are paying more starting in May since the forced migration to the rewards points system. We lost the monthly autopay ($2/month) and loyalty (up to $5/month) discount.
Here is the announcement:
Did you or your husband change plans? Purchase any add ons? Might want to check your payment history page in your self service account. If you have questions, you can even copy and paste the payment history on the forum (do not include any personal information).

Hello @LO-C
First, please contact the credit card company to make sure these are actual fees and not pending charges. If you find they are actual charges, then you will need to create a ticket to get assistance. Look below.
With regards to your husbands bill going up $4.52 more, that is because Public Mobile removed everyone's loyalty credits. Here's the link.
To Submit a ticket, please click the following link to access the Public Mobile Chatbot: https://widget.telus.tiia.ai/publicmobile/publicmobile.html Type: Customer Service Agent
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: I am not a Public Mobile employee. I am a customer just like you. Please do not send me a private message with your personal information.

for your husband two charges. Were they May 1st and May 31st? Remember PM's cycle is 30 days, so there can be months with 2 payments
And for couple $ difference, you probably wondering where the autopay/loyalty discount/friend rewards gone? PM has ended that old system and moved everyone to the new Public Points!!
So, now you have to pay full price first and PM will give you back points after. Instead of loyalty rewards monthly, you get 10 points per year on your anniversary date with Public Mobile. Instead of $2 autopay discount, you get 5% of your plan in points.
And the points are useful to reduce the bill. After you got 15+ points, you will go to rewards site to redeem 15 points for $15 bill credit

you might have missed the announcement back in March about the rewards system change
But first, are you on $25 plan? there is currently a $19 plan available for exiting subscribers, you can change to that to recover the lost rewards from the change of rewards system
PM retired the old reward system earlier (May 2024) and everyone migrated on the new Public Points system.
https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-help/articles/move-to-public-points
With this new system, you pay the full amount first (with the Available Funds on your My Account or via your credit/debit card on the system), and hence you see a higher charge now.
After renewal, PM will give you the points to your reward account within 48 hours. Once you collected 15 points, you can redeem $15 bill payment yourself to bring the next payment down. Or you can also use points to buy add-ons with a discounted price
For how to earn points with Public Points,
I have to admit Public Points rewards is not as good as the Legacy rewards system, but you are still saving money, just in a slower pace
