I lost my phone and SIM card.
i will go to a local store to get a new public mobile SIM card. Can I port my old number across to the new SIM card and how to do this? Many thanks!

If you had an iPhone then go to your iCloud account page and erase and disable/lock the lost phone. Then just to make sure go to your PM account page and also lock your Sim by following the Lost-Stolen link. After doing the later then I think that you can transfer your existing account to a new SIM card.

Log in to your account (use computer) and do Change SIM:

Have you made a concerted effort to try to locate it?
first step would be trying to call the number.
Depending on its condition, and whether it was left on, you may also be able to use Apple or Google or Samsung services to help locate it or place messaging on the lock screen for an honest person who may find it.
It’s certainly worth a shot, depending on the device and possible accounts logged in on the device.
You might also wish to place the device in lost/stolen status from self serve, if you are concerned someone may be using it.

If you have not done so, you might want to first supsend your service first until you got a replacement sim card;
Login to My Account, from Quick Links on the top right, click Lost/Stolen Phone:
Then get a Public Mobile sim card from
Once you got the sim card, go to My Account from ONLY a desktop or laptop computer to request Change Sim card (please note that due to some glitches, accessing change sim care from mobile phone or tablet won't work)
After you logged in, unsuspend first if you have suspended your service earlier.
Then click Quick Links on the top right and select Change Sim card and follow the steps:
And for your lost phone, maybe you can use the FindMy service to locate the phone and try a remote wipe
