Lost SIM Card While Overseas - Further Action?

Hi Public Mobile Support Team!

I am writing to get some help on my unfortunate event of losing my SIM card while on vacation. Since I am not able to use my phone number, I am not able to log into my account (email: ga********@gmail.com), so I made another account to make this community post. My account is still being charged, but my main concern is that if it's possible to get a new SIM card with the same phone number? Please let me know what I should do next. (I will be travelling back to BC on the 19th).

Try these workarounds, it could bypass the SMS in linking My Account with EverSafe ID

  1. Reset your password to self service account. Once reset, sign in again with new password. Might be able to receive 2FA via email instead to gain access.
    (!!!You will need to click Resend Code and then Send email to trigger the 2FA to email)
  2. Potential workaround (for some): If you don't have access to SMS OTP, try entering an incorrect OTP code 4 times. For some individuals, this is giving the option of an email instead.

If none of those workarounds helps,  please open ticket with support by direct message here:

**Monitor your Community inbox (envelope icon on top right) after the ticket is opened.  CS Agent will reply to you there

I am not being offered an option to have the code sent by email right now. Is this happening because I am overseas?

Just pickup a new SIM from a Telus store or from Amazon.ca then login to your account and hit Resend Code to have the 2FA code sent by email.

Once you are in your account, go to your Profile section and click on Change SIM Card number so you can keep your existing number.

Good thing your old SIM can only work in Canada.

Remove your email from your post as this is public forum.
You do not need phone to log in to your account. Use computer. If security code is sent to your phone to log in, click on 'resend code' and you will be offered with option to receive such code by email.

Get new SIM and transfer your number to new SIM. Simple process through My Account.

@gagi2002  Yes you can get a new physical SIM card or if your phone supports it eSIM . But since s you can’t log in you will need supports help . Here’s the link
