  • I recently switched back to public mobile because it's cheap but after activation and my plan I can't receive incoming calls only with public mobile costumers and I don't understand why

Very decent post. Kudos to @BeachNBeer to being such honest person. We are here to assist and not only to collect brownie points 😁

I'm still waiting for a response

Good on you @BeachNBeer

I'm generally interested in hearing what the issue was with this OP.

I suspect it may have something to do with the provisioning of the SIM card and the CSA's will help with that.

@katt0488  can you report back what they determined the problem to be, please?

(EFIT:  LOL  --  looks like @softech already covered.. 🤣)

Ok thanks 😊

@katt0488   let us know how it turns out.  PM agent should be able to check if the SIM was and account was provisioned properly on the backend.

I can still receive all from people who are with public mobile like my brother and his wife are able to call me but my mom and her husband can and they are with a different company

as advised by @HALIMACS , you can try to put your SIM in another phone to confirm.

if still no luck, try to open a ticket with PM .  I posted how to open ticket in my earlier post

@katt0488  You should also check your phone settings in your phone. Specifically your call block rules. It might be set to automatically decline calls. Also check do not disturb.

Oh, that's too long for all calling services to not work.

Are you certain that you can ONLY receive incoming calls from Public Mobile customers?

Perhaps have someone in the same room/house as you (not on the PM network) call you and see what happens?

If this is the only calling function not working, definitely try the SIM swapping with someone else to see if the problem is reflected with your PM SIM card being in the other device.

@katt0488   i think one more reboot should do  🙂

if still fails, then it makes sense to get PM involved by opening ticket  :

1. For faster response (2-48 hours), Click on the bubble in the lower right to request CS Agent assistance, or use this direct link: https://publicmobile.ca/chatbot.

Start with typing "Submit a ticket", click "Contact Us", click "Other" from the choices, click "Click here to submit a ticket". Then follow to complete the ticket submission.

2. Or you can Send a private message to the CS Agent here: https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437

**Monitor your Community inbox, envelope on the top right, after ticket is opened.  CS Agent will reply and work with you  via messaging there

@katt0488  What happens when people try to call you?. Does it go to voicemail or dead line?

@katt0488 wrote:

How do I reboot just turning it off and on. And yes I can make calls to any one and my text and data is working fine. I even removed my Sim Carr and put it back in and still the same problem

Yes, rebooting is simply powering down, waiting a minute, then powering up.

Also, you may try to swap your SIM card with another person on the Public Mobile network to troubleshoot whether the malfunction occurs in their device.

Ok I will try that. And I have bin with them since Monday the 20th of December

@katt0488   just press and hold the power button and it will give you the option to Reboot

Reboot it one more time.

Also, how long you have joined PM?

Incoming calling is usually the last item to 'function' it seems (i never did understand why this might be...)

Try:

  • rebooting your device
  • toggling airplane mode on/off
  • resetting your network connections
  • removing the PM SIM card, then reinserting it

Any of the above help?

@katt0488   try a reboot of the phone first.

and call yourself from landline again, and see if it works or if the calls got routed to voicemail or an message saying the number is not assigned

and you can make outgoing calls and data no issue?  how about incoming text?

@katt0488

Did you port over from another carrier?  What about incoming texts?  data work?

Maybe try rebooting your phone.  Network reset of phone.

@katt0488  Did you transfer your number from another company or is it a new number? How long ago if you transferred? If you did transfer you should have received a text from old provider that you have to reply to with YES to complete the transfer.

@katt0488  how long you have activate your line?

did you request porting?   If you request porting, you replied YES to the text from your old provider?

if you have request porting and porting completed, it might be still another 1 to 3 days before all other networks find the new "home" of your phone number.  This is normal for porting.

If you have activated and port for longer than 3 days, try changing your phone to 3G and see if it helps.

Also, may I know what brand and model of your phone?  which provider you used this phone on before?
