Can't retrieve voicemails any longer

CathyMassig

Hi today every time I check my voicemails it says 8ub1 and I cannot receive my voicemails! Does anyone know what happened and what I can do? I've got voicemails I really need to listen to. Thank you. I've got a full package with voicemail texting 35 GB 5G what's going on?

Thank you computer geek! That works to call my own number, I appreciate that. But I guess service will get back to me and hopefully fix it so I can retrieve it the regular way. But in the interim that really helps. Thank you 😄

You can dial your own phone number from either your cell phone to check messages. That's not really the proper way of doing it, but this will work.

From any other phone, you could also call your cell phone number.  Don't answer the incoming phone call. When you start hearing your voicemail greeting, press *.  After keying in your voicemail password, you can access your voicemail box.

Thank you for replying. No, I just dialed the voicemail phone number and that's what I hear every time 8ub1. And I am not techy at all and wouldn't know how to do what you just described LOL I would really need someone holding my hand through that. Do you think they changed my voicemail phone number?

@CathyMassig

were you accessing VM by press and hold 1?

First, try Reset Network settings, it will try to reprogram the Key 1 to the correct voicemail access number.

If that does not work, can you try calling one of the VM access number listed in this post:
https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Get-Support/Updated-list-of-Voicemail-Access-Numbers/...

if one of them work, you can manually program it as your voicemail access number on your phone.  Just go to the Phone App, open Settings, Voicemail and update the number
