bought plan, activated sim, login thru app, pick out number, asks me to confirm my identity thru a verification on the phone number I chose, unable to receive code due to sim remaining unregistered. help please

Did you finish off the activation via your PM app? Then you should receive the confirmation text.

After it asks for verification code there is a box that states... Resend code... ask it to be resent and there should be an option to send verification code to the e-mail address you signed up with...
Going on memory but there is definitely an option to send verification code to e-mail address you signed up with....
