This is wrong - You absolutely do not need to contact the losing carrier (Freedom) to initiate a port. It is only initiated from the gaining carriers side (Public Mobile).
Key point though is that the losing carriers SIM must remain active in the phone to receive and respond to the verification text to confirm you wish to port your number away.

@sahildeepsingh Based on recent posts do NOT order your SIM directly from PM. Canada Post is taking 3+ weeks.
Instead try one of the stores listed here:: https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/store-locator
Or online from Amazon.ca or https://canadiancellsupplies.com/
Or tell us your location in case a member nearby has a spare.

You would need to contact Freedom to intiat6 the port.
https://www.freedommobile.ca/en-CA/contact-us.
You would need to purchase a PM sim. They can be ordered through PM, Canadian Cell Supplies, or you can purchase one from a retailer.
You can save some money if you get a referral code from an existing PM customer.

We're not gong to do it all for you @sahildeepsingh , but we'll guide you.
Getting Started with Public Mobile - What to Do
Start with reading the get started section of the public mobile website.
https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-started
Essentially the first step is getting a Public Mobile SIM card (can usually get FREE at Walmart if they do the activation there, or through Public Mobile, London Drugs, or Canadian Cell Supplies).
Make sure to use a referral code on the referrers self serve page (if you know someone currently using Public Mobile) so you both get rewarded for doing so.
