I am on a 5G plan but sadly I’m not receiving 5G signal seemingly because my phone is not compatible with PM’s 5G frequency bands. Now that I won’t be able to use 5G speed and with the upcoming changes to the reward program, I need to downgrade my plan to maintain the same billing amount.
but when I go to my account to switch my plan there are only 5G and 3G plans are available for me to switch. It’s kinda upsetting and if PM is blocking me from downgrading to 4G I will have to switch to other providers as they have the same plan as PM for the same price.
Anyone knows the reason for not having access to 4G plans? Please don’t ask me what’s my phone make and model is. I’d rather stick to the same question and resolve the issues one at a time.
thanks everyone!

Yes, PM just release to downgrade from 5G to 4G to all customers, including us currently,

You're replied to an old thread. At the time the question was asked, the customer was provided with the correct information.

Correct, they are 4G plans. As I read in the thread, members are complaining that they cannot change from 5G to 4G ( hence the thread name) but this shows otherwise. Note the tab at the top of my screenshot. (4G plans)

Perhaps something has changed. I am a current subscriber and have 2x 4G plans available to switch to. Not sure why only 3G and 5G are the only options for you.

I’m not even getting anything near 100 mbps

The reason is because its intentional on PMs part. The change in rewards programs means every legacy reward subscriber is paying more for their existing plan starting in May. You (like many, many others including myself) want to move from a 5G plan to a 4G plan to, as you point out “maintain the same billing amount”. But PM doesn’t want that as they want to make even more money from you to make even more profit.

All plans are 5G capable, the plans are simply marketed as "5G, 4G, or 3G speeds" based on how slow they limit the speed to. 4G/LTE are fast enough to reach the max speed of that plan.

There is no more 4G plans for current customers. Only 5 and 3G.
Pick cheapest 5G plan which would work for you.
And why PM does not have 4G in offers? It is called 'progress'! Just waiting to see when 3G subscribers will be FORCED to switch to 5G even they do not want nor need that.

@AM1R Think of the 3G/4G/5G plans as low, medium, and high speed plans. Anyone with any phone can use any of the plans - your phone will do the best it can. If you have a 4G phone and on a 5G plan, you should come very close to seeing the full speed anyway. You just won't have a technical "5G" connection - but it really won't matter much.

HI @AM1R
PM 5G plan is just 5G speed with more data
you can use the 5G plan on your 4G phone without problem, and still have very good speed. So, you don't need to downgrade to 4G plan.

@AM1R The 4G plans are for new customers only, which is why you are not seeing them as options.
