good point, thank you. I guess I will have to determine whether it is worth the risk or to just use an add-on. I wish there was a 30 day USA add-on cheaper than a 2x 15-day add-on equivalent or some more flexibility with regards to the plan/data. hopefully more coming soon

@zephyr707 just note that you'd be at the mercy of PM's current plan offering at the time of the switch. They won't grandfather plans once you switch out of them, so if it's not available when you want to switch back you would have to choose a different plan. Conversely, the $50 Can/US plan could just be a temp offer as well, and may not be available when you plan to travel.

@zephyr707 PM is prepaid provider and no plan commitment. So, you can pretty much change to a different plan every month. Just make sure you use Change on Renewal to schedule plan change in the following renewal date instead of Change Now

is there a limit to how many times one can switch between plans? e.g. if you had a set schedule where you would spend a month or longer in the US could you switch from a lower plan to the $50/40gb before you head to the US and then switch back once you return to Canada? Assuming it lined up with the cycles and saved you some $ would it be ok with PM?

Please note and heads up that PM Roaming doesn’t work in Alaska.

it is as good as using the US roaming addon
US roaming relies on T-Mobile network, so it is as good as T-Mobile coverage. I think generally it is ok. Also, PM has enabled VoLTE now, so the challenge that most people had with voice is no longer an issue
The plan is $50 for 40GB honest, it is a decent deal even without US roaming on it. And now with the US part, you find it well worth it even you make just one trip to US during that cycle. So, test it out first, if you don't like it, change it back to the $44-30GB (as long as the deal is still available)
