APN settings do not have any effect on SMS or phone call services.

Hello there @Zig11
Let's try a couple things here. When porting over to Public Mobile, your original service provider will send you a text message asking permission to port. Then, you will have 90 minutes to reply the word YES. If you've said yes, usually the port happens pretty quickly. If you haven't received that message from your service provider, there is a number to call to get help. However, if you place your old service providers SIM card back in your phone, do you still have service?

@Zig11 Did you leave old providers sim in the phone to reply YES to confirmation text ?
I’ll send you the porting team number private message they. An re trigger the port request if need be and give update on the status of the request

HI @Zig11
Did you get a text from the old carrier, did you reply YES?
and can you receive inbound phone calls, especially from Non-Telus/Koodo/PM phone? If you cannot the port was not done
It could be an incomplete port. PM porting support team can help. I have sent you the porting support team number. Please check your Community inbox (envelope on top right), check for the number and call
