I don’t understand how an LTE plan can possibly be this brutal, other than public throttling data and thinking customers won’t notice? No, I’m not out of data…I’ve used 3/50 GB for the month. Yes, I’ve reset my networking settings, restarted the phone, etc. I’ve tried in different spots in my city with the same result. I can’t even watch a live TikTok without buffering.
Funny thing is the speed test starts in the 100mbps range, then gradually drops to under 10mbps leading me to believe public throttles and thinks people won’t notice. What a load of B.S.

This depends on which plan you're on. The speed that you're used to also determine what would be consdiered good for any specific person. I know that's not really the type of answer you're looking for, but a good speed is whatever any particular user is happy with. Network conditions are also a factor and the speeds advertised by Public Mobile are only maximum speeds.

hi @bonezz82 I don't think they throttle video, just the overall data is slow today in some area

Why do they throttle video? What a ridiculous company… glad I get my chatr sim tomorrow.

Video is throttled. Try using a VPN and see if that helps streaming playback. The speed test does seem low.

I did open a ticket, but I feel like PM service has been oversold in my area and doubt CS will do anything. Throttling seems to be common with PM also…

To me it seems more like the company is throttling. Probably reserved for Telus customers who pay double.

I still have a 3g plan ($15)...2.8 download and 2.9 up.

Slow data reception/speed is not unique to PM. I thought a 5G plan would improve speed but -- in my case anyway --- it has not. Even at 5G sometimes my phone just spins and spins trying to load the page. Maybe our over population with cell phones is at times overloading the system. —-

Hey bonezz82,
Man, I feel your pain—I've been there too with the slow data, and it's super frustrating. Especially when you're nowhere near hitting your data limit. From what you're describing, it almost does sound like some sort of throttling, but they usually only do that after you've hit your data cap, so this is weird.
One thing that sometimes helps me is toggling between LTE and 3G for a bit, even though it's a slower network, just to see if it temporarily fixes the speed. I know you've tried different spots, but sometimes network congestion can be wild at random times of the day.
If that doesn't work, I’d recommend reaching out to Public Mobile support through their ticket system. It sucks that we can't just call someone directly, but they’ve helped me out in the past when I had a similar issue.
Hope they fix it soon, man. If not, I totally get why you’d want to switch.
Good luck!

hi @bonezz82 are you in Vancouver area? there has been problem with LTE and 5G in Vancouver area for last 2 days

@bonezz82 yes many have same complaint also note it’s up to 100mbs on 4G plan dosent mean you will always get 100mbs but 12.6mbs is to slow .
also when you do the speed test you should have wifi turned off to test

Hello @bonezz82
First, you need to realize we are all customers like you here on this forum. Public Mobile does not monitor these boards. For that reason, you need to create a ticket to get help. Here's how.
To submit a ticket with CS Agent using this Chatbot link
https://widget.telus.tiia.ai/publicmobile/publicmobile.html
Type Customer Service and follow the prompts. If you are having any issues, here is a direct link by sending a private message
https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437
EDIT: I just did a speedtest in my area (Winnipeg) and got 107 down and 9.5 up. And I'm on 4G.
