For VoLTE to work, do I need to change my old SIM card or will this happen when I change my plan from 3G to 4G?

@ValeryD1   PM's VoLTE list is here, doesn't look like your phones are on it.  PM doesn't have WiFi calling for anyone (yet?).  Scroll down this link for the PM VoLTE list but do the test @Handy1 suggested just in case.

The list is incomplete.  The Candian version of the Galaxy S20 FE works fine on VoLTE at Public Mobile.

VoLTE capability has nothing to do with the SIM card or the plan. Even a 3G plan will work with VoLTE. If you have a phone that is on Public Mobile's (Telus's) allow-list for VoLTE, it should enable automatically. If your phone has an option to enable VoLTE, check that too.

You shouldn't need to change your plan for VoLTE.

Just one minuts ago I use SIM card from other provider, and VoLTE option, VoWIFI and SMSoWIFI works on my Samsung S20 ultra and Samsung S20 FE. 🙂 Its up to service from cellphone provider and SIM.

@ValeryD1  No you don’t need a new SIM card . pM only enables it for certain phone . But you can test this by putting your phone LTE and turn wifi off . Now make a call dose the phone drop to 3G or stay on LTE ? If stays on LTE then voLTE is enabled

@ValeryD1

you don't need a new sim card, but you need the proper device, a device that is  on PM's VoLTE whitelist

What phone do you have?
