Can I port my landline number to a new cell phone I want to purchase?

You will need to call your old provider to tell them to allow the transfer. Don't tell them to close then. Then you transfer, they do it, then they close the account.. Even if there's a problem with the transfer, don't then ask them to close. A successful transfer will close the account on its own, not you asking.

HI @MH41

yes, you can.  And remember porting from landline takes longer, 3 to 7 business days

first check if it can be ported here

if it can, get a physical sim, unless you are using eSIM, then download the PM app on your phone and use it to activate

@MH41  Typically yes and know that because with land line you can’t reply YES to confirm the transfer it can take 3-5 days to Complete the port testing phone each day until  completed . But first step is to ensure the number can be ported into PM

Check to see if # can be ported

Yes, you can. It is slightly different then porting mobile phone as you cannot get SMS to authorize transfer. And it takes a little bit longer to complete.

Check here to see if your number is eligible.

You can port a landline number if it’s eligible, just know that it can take 3-5 days for the process to be completed.
