Can someone explain this new points thing to me? If I start collecting 'points' do I lose the rewards that I've accumulated? Or do they mean the same thing? On the current plans being offered it says "the new plan says "Earn $1.25/month in points value with our Public Points" - what does this mean? Does this mean I'll get an extra $1.25 off my plan each month?

@danielsk Sadly we've been forced to switch, :/. Is this legal? Class action?
I would imagine it is legal given that the Service Terms (see link at the bottom of community pages) state the following (had to do it by screenshot as iPad won't let me copy and paste it)

Yes you are correct, note this is an old thread from last November, well before the announcement about the rewards change.

@Andy85 ". There are no $1 monthly rewards for referring a friend to public mobile if you have the new points system." There is 1 point every thirty days for referring someone (and the friend gets $10 once).

To add. Let's see if my post is auto deleted by the system by posting a link to their own web site.
This link will tell you all about Public Points.

Hi @Murrellsa,
The legacy rewards system and the new points system are different. You could only select one or the other. Newer clients only have the choice of receiving the new points system. If you are on the old legacy rewards system, it is more advantageous.
The new points system no longer have the $2 auto-pay reward. It has been replaced with a 5% cash back. Additionally, you cannot accumulate up to $5/month for 5 years of loyalty. The new points system only provides people $10 a year on their anniversary. So if you remain with Public mobile for 5 years, you'd essentially get $60 a year from loyalty rewards alone compared to only $10 with the new system. There are no $1 monthly rewards for referring a friend to public mobile if you have the new points system. Lastly, in order for you to actually receive your points (money) on the new points system, you need to accumulate 15 points in order to cash out. The only legacy rewards allowed you to get a month rebate regardless of the amount.
Stick with the old legacy rewards... Trust me! If you decide to switch to the points, you can never go back to the legacy rewards.

@Murrellsa Old $ legacy rewards are superior do not switch to points rewards if you haven’t already there no going back . It’s a one way street . You can change plans and not worry about losing your old rewards . Just be sure to change plan on next renewal and not immediately or you lose money on your current cycle .i can confirm this I just switched to new Black Friday plan and kept my old rewards have a peek 👀

What I will say is this @Murrellsa IF you are currently on the old point system called Legacy Rewards, stay on it. Ignore the new Public Points system. NEVER CHANGE IT!
