Question for the community: anyone experiencing not hearing an outgoing ring tone (outgoing calls) when making calls? It says silent until, all of sudden, someone on the other end picks up. Happen randomly and indiscriminately. Hoping someone else has run into this same problem and has a solution.

No. Network gurus are supposed to be on it.

I am having the same concern. Were you ever able to resolve the issue? If yes, what was the resolution?

I do not get ring back when I dial mobile lines. I do however get ring back when calling land lines. My issue has been raised to the network gurus. Apparently this has happened to a number of customers using various phones and different networks. This is what I got when I used AI to help with this:
- Landline calls usually route through older PSTN systems, which are more stable and don’t rely on VoLTE or mobile-specific audio routing.
- Mobile-to-mobile calls, especially over 4G/5G, rely heavily on VoLTE and IMS (IP-based voice) features.
- If there's a provisioning 1problem or miscommunication in mobile call setup, the call might go through but the ring back tone doesn’t get passed through.

Do you have an iPhone? Search show s lots of similar complaints in Reddit. One possible resolution is just to restart your phone.
I have an Android, Pixel. I have occasionally experienced this but not enough to be bothered by it. Good luck.

@Mastert74 I don't know how cell phones work in that regard but my understanding was with landlines that it is the exchange that sends the ringing signal back to the caller. With cell phones I'm assuming sometimes there's a glitch that causes the signal not to be sent, or perhaps the connection is too quick as with a VoLTE call vs non-VoLTE. But any more than this speculation is over my head lol!

@Phil_Adelphus ya...seems to be a PM to PM issue. Also happens from PM to Bell (i know they use the same network though Bell/Telus). If it is a routing issue, not sure PM can do anything about it?

@Mastert74 I've noticed it occasionally, not just with PM. Since the calls worked I didn't look for a solution. I suspect it is more an issue with the routing connection/s.
