No contact with network

aquanaut20
Great Neighbour / Super Voisin

I have a Wheatek , Hotwav phone

Model cyber 8.

I registered, selected/paid for plan and installed the SIM, An Icon is apparent at the top of the main screen, it does not show any signal, When I attempt to make a call it displays a mesage "No Network available"  it does however register on the usage section of the web portal..

I have followed all the directions supplied by the android helper (electronic idiot).

My wife's phone on the same carrier works at this location..  and my sim registers in her phone..

I am now in limbo and need some helpful direction  ..  TIA..   Philip

@aquanaut20  It's dual sim? Try the sim in the other slot. People have had success with other types of phones.

@aquanaut20 , try doing a manual network search and see what shows up.  Ideally the setting should be on auto, allowing the network selection to be made based on the SIM card that is in the phone.

Thank guys, I have already tried all the suggestions, the phone supplier states this phone is compatible,

If I cannot get it to work, some one will be getting a new phone  (Tablet) for Christmas

** If it does not work as a phone it is a small tablet...  LOL

@aquanaut20

Factory reset of phone?

Try your wife's Sim card in your phone.

HI @aquanaut20  where did you get the phone from?  From trusted source or private sell?

Try to reboot the phone again and look at it closely.  If you see it connects to the network briefly and then disconnect, it might be a sign that the phone is blacklisted.  Of course, check the site as mentioned by @computergeek541

Did your phone ever worked with any other SIM?
Maybe your phone is reported stolen or blacklisted?

I would start by suggesting seeing if the IMEI has good status at devicecheck.ca.

@aquanaut20 Have you tried her sim card in your phone? Did you reboot your phone once you inserted PM sim? Try changing network settings to 3G only and see if that works.

@aquanaut20

Your phone should be compatible with Public mobile.

https://specs-tech.com/en/hotwav-cyber-8/

You may want to try rebooting phone.  Network reset of phone.

Since the SIM card works in your wife's phone, it should be a phone/hardware setup issue.
