The porting request is initiated by your new provider. They will likely require the following information from your pm account:
As advised remove your autopay and credit card information before initiating your port request with the new provider. Leave your pm sim card in your phone to recieve the PAT (porting authorization text) and reply YES within 90 minutes of receiving it. Sorry to see you go.....

Correct, ask your new provider. Some port outs are quick and others are not. 2 days you might be SOL and have to pay on Dec 20.
Who are are you moving to?
Why are you leaving?

@thewestlake : As much as we'd like to see you come back...why aren't you asking these questions of the new provider?

Process begins during the activation phase with the new provider
They will ping Public Mobile, who will send you a port authorization request.
Keep your PM SIM card in your existing device and reply "yes" to the port authorization SMS text.
Afterwards, you can then reinsert the new provider SIM card in your device and reboot.

@thewestlake you should have enough time. Request porting today and if porting completes quick, you don't have to pay an extra month.
once you request porting, you will receive a text on your PM SIM and you need to rely YES within 90 min. this text should come quick after you request the porting.
your PM account will have been closed once porting completed. So, you might want to disable Autopay first.

@thewestlake : Support is to be provided by the new provider. This account needs to be active. As with anything you've given access to money it's suggested to remove your payment card from here.

As public mobile is prepaid, if you port your number before your next renewal date, you will not have to pay for another cycle.
If you are on auto pay the best way to prevent this is to remove the associated payment card from the account BEFORE porting to another provider.

You would need to initial the port from your other provider. Once the port is completed then your PM account is automatically closed.
