Super frustrated. Was excited for new plans; numbers ported over from voip softphone, expecting smoother experience. But wife and I's phones turn out to have terrible reception everywhere. My home, coverage map says 5g area, getting 15mbs w/ sim signal strength -102 to -106ish. 4g areas I get nothing, no bars, unusable. Seems to be the same as far as I can tell on my wife's plan as well. Tried switching to 4g, airplane mode on/off, restarting phone, and resetting network settings...any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks, it's an S21 Ultra. Tried Resetting Network settings week or so ago with other things. (switching to 4g, airplane mode on/off, restarting phone, and resetting network settings). APN settings appear to be what you've prescribed.

hi @dimguy
what phone do you have?
First, you can try Reset Network settings
if you have iPhone, make sure you update Carrier Profile
if you have Android, check the APN, should be like this
APN: sp.mb.com
MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc
MMSC proxy: mmscproxy.mobility.ca
MMS port: 8799
MCC: 302
MNC: 220
APN Type: default,supl,mms

@dimguy How long since you sent the PM? It's possible they can fix the problem so maybe resend if no reply by the time they close tonight at 10 p.m. before giving up on Public Mobile. I'm not in BC so can't speak to the service there but Public Mobile speeds where I am can get up to the maximum advertised.

Yeah, I don't know if Public Mobile will work for us. Service super slow in Mission BC. Had no data at bank in Abbotsford so couldn't access banking info, sent CS_Agent PM and got no reply. This is worse than a voip softphone on Fido tablet plan. Will have to look for another provider I guess...

Thanks for the catch.

@dimguy You can contact Public Mobile customer service by opening a service ticket at the chat icon bottom right of this page. If that doesn't work, send them a private message using this link. Maybe they need to refresh something at their end

@BKNS27 PM utilize Telus (Koodo & PM) and Bell (Fido & Chatr) cell tower....... Rogers (Virgin and Lucky)
Bell is the one that is Virgin and Lucky. Rogers is Fido and Chatr.

Yes appears to be towers within a block of me in every direction. I couldn't imagine how that would be the issue. I should clarify as well, the poor reception is not just at home where there might be some sort of interference, but has been noted the few other places where I needed to use the internet as well.

It seems like there is good coverage in Mission but depending on your precise location.
PM utilize Telus (Koodo & PM) and Bell (Virgin & Lucky) cell towers.
Check on your precise location:
If there are no cell towers in your area. Check on Rogers (Fido & Chatr) and Freedom towers.
