Public mobile is a SCAM! Be aware! They showed me on their map that they do have reception in West Vancouver while they do NOT. They have fully charged me while there is Zero reception and my phone NOT working. And they say No refund!!! That is why they have monthly subscription! This is how they make money by ripping off the people like you and me.

Public is owned by Telus' and uses Telus' network.
Telus' BC Coverage with Micro Cell Sites on top of regular sites is Amazing in the lower mainland!
Vancouver's Entire Lower Mainland is their Home Area and coverage is Amazing compared to Roger's from my experience and many others who have switched from Rogers/Fido and Freedom... I have also checked side by side same coverage whether you are on Telus or Public... Telus also shares sites with Bell.

Public Mobile Cell Sites (Telus / Bell)

Rogers Cell Sites

Notice Rogers concentration around the population centers....
Poor coverage in the fringe areas...

@firoozeh

I am with PM for 3 years and no issues.
Strange that you indicated that coverage doesn’t cover West Van. I was in West Van at Park Royal Mall and at Cypress Bowl Road it was working fine.

There are more Telus and Bell towers in West Van compared with Freedom or Virgin.

Looking at the coverage map, Telus+Bell is much better than Rogers.  Afterall, BC is Telus' "home", how can it be poor coverage

But like all provider, there should be some "dead spots" here and there, if you move a bit, there should be reception again

and if it is new account, then it should be an activation/provisioning problem.

I also see esim was used, sometimes, it is just esim configuration instead of the network.  Either look deeper at that or change to physical sim for easier configuration

@firoozeh , the coverage map shows pretty good coverage to me.  It should be the same coverage as Koodo/Telus, Bell/Virgin/Lucky.

Toggle on “turn on this line”

And remove old providers sim or disable it if eSIM and reset network settings and se if that helps

hi @firoozeh

does the esim show up in the sim manager or Settings->Cellular screen?

did you remove the old carrier's sim card or disable the old carrier's esim?

do you see the esim showing connected to the network ? or SOS ?

can you confirm what model is your phone so we can help better?

And 2 support - no over phone support! in back and forth writing style! - could not solve it and eventually they washed off their hands and coaimed there is no “issue” on their end!! Now I- the customer with no phone service in Christmas season!- am the issue!

HI @firoozeh Telus has great coverage in BC and definitely very good coverage in the big city of West Vancouver.  I have no trouble using it there

West Vancouver is a big city and seems you do not have reception in my neighborhood while Public mobile claimed- on their map- they do!

hi @firoozeh

before you believe this is a scam, many in West Vancouver is using the service without trouble.

first, what phone do you have?

did you try Reset Network settings?

did you try your sim card in another phone?

anyone else use Telus/Bell/Koodo/Virgin/Lucky in the same area? they all use the same network and hence no reason it does not work for PM

Please try and give us more details to your case
