Hi all,
this is basically the $20 plan but with a $2 saving. I don't think this will last long, get it while you can
I see this plan even for people on a $55 plan. So, look like it is for everyone
Update as of 4pm: the plan is only available for $13 and $15 subscribers

hi @kemuso
sound like you are "subscribing" from the main page as a new subscriber
no, the $18 plan can only offered for some existing customers. You need to login My Account, go to Change Subscription page to see the plan.
if you are not a PM subscriber at the moment, you won't have access to that plan

Today the $18 Plan shows $18 but when you try to subscribe to it, it automatically changes to $20 Plan

carriers are following that rule still
However, if you read carefully, that is not something for all carriers to follow. It is something specifically for the Big 4 only, Bell, Rogers , Telus and SaskTel. Other carriers are not bounded by that rule. Hence, PM does not violate any rules for not offereing $15 plan. In fact, none of the Tier 3 carriers offer $15 plan anymore

I dont think any of the carriers now follow that rule, how is that fair? Then again the CRTC only seems to enforce the rules it wants to.

Agree, I'm perfectly fine on my $15 plan, and on my retirement income.

The $18 plan has never been available to new customers. Also, it's only available to some existing customers.

Hello,
Is the plan still available for new or existing customers ?
Thank you,

Thanks, yes will have to check more often. I did see the $27. but I very rarely use any gbs, never the 1gb we have now. We have another phone with Virgin with more gbs but don't use that either much, the cheapest plan they had too. Virgin was because PM did and still does not have our old phone number exchange which we wanted to keep. We are generally at home and are on wifi 90% of the time.
Thanks again.

@Grinch Based on what I’ve seen in the last week or so, I don’t think a price guarantee / freeze from PM will be in the cards. “In this world, nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes” - BENJAMIN FRANKLIN

hi @pomlady7
your 3G plan is just about speed, it does not stop you from accessing the 4G and even 5G network, just the speed will be capped at 3Mbps
however, the $25 1GB is an old plan. PM has been offering many nice plans for $25 -1GB subscribers, like $25 for 10GB or $75 for for 60 GB but for 90 days (ie, like $25 for 20GB), you probably missed them
you can keep checking your My Account's Change Subscription page and you should still see some nice plan like $27 for 6GB
but again, you don't have to worry about end of 3G network, it won't affects your plan, but you do need a relatively new phone so you can use VoLTE for voice calls when 3G ends

@pomlady7 wrote:Hi all. So how does a person that is not on here very much find out about cheaper plans for existing customers?
You might receive SMS from PM but I doubt PM will advertise cheaper plan as they at for-profit company.
IF you see $18 plan on your PM account I would suggest you schedule plan change to that one; unlimited Canada wide calls/sms in/out and 1GB of data. Two (3) cheapest plans are 4G, the rest is 5G.
As for end-of-year offers your guess is as good as anybody's else; PM might or not offer some limited time 'amazing' offers but do not expect cheap one. Most likely they will be related to more data per buck.

Hi all. So how does a person that is not on here very much find out about cheaper plans for existing customers? I have been with PM for years, started out with the $25. 1gb plan 3g. I heard they are going to discontinue the 3g and wonder what is going to happen then? I keep looking for cheaper plans when on as I really do not need many gbs, so would be happier with a cheaper plan.
Is there possibly a certain time of the year, like Black Friday where they give special prices for existing customers, or is it just random?

@ORNGNBLK wrote:@Maximize1 Although there’s no guarantee the $18 won’t jump up soon, I would say it’s going to stay there for a significant amount of time, based on historical increases/changes.
There is another Canadian telco carrier that has a guarantee of no price increase for the plan you are subscribed to. Perhaps PM will do that?

hi @Metallo1
no
what you need to do is to click "Change on Renewal" and have the change on next renewal, which is Oct 22
09-27-2025 01:45 PM
My question is the following: My 250MB subscription renewed on Sept 22, if I change it to the 18$ plan for 1GB today, will I be charged the 3$ difference for the remaining 25 days? If not, how will this work?
09-27-2025 07:55 AM

I'd like to know if this $18 plan will also be effected with $3 hike after sign up?

hi @Cech1
you are not the only one misread that page. That is for the Big 4 carriers only, Bell, Telus, Rogers and SaskTel. Other carriers are not bounded to that. And the $15 is for Postpaid, PM is Prepaid.
and PM is not the only one not offering $15 plan. None of the oher tier 3 postpaid carrier has $15 monthly plan
09-25-2025 04:58 PM
Hence, forcing us to pay more when we don't necessarily want or need it. What happened to having a minimum $15 plan? According to CRTC laws: https://crtc.gc.ca/eng/phone/mobile/occa.htm
09-25-2025 04:23 PM
hi @Cech1
only way to make the $3 worth more is to change it to the $18 plan for the 1GB. If you don't make the plan change, you will be stuck with 250 or 500Mb
09-25-2025 04:20 PM
Got a text message about our plan increasing from $15 to $18, but no mention of any additional data. Great way to force us to pay more, thanks!!
09-25-2025 11:44 AM
I'm on the $15 plan and see two IDENTICAL plans providing 1 GB - one for $20 and one for $18. Strange!
However, just received notice that my $15 plan is going to cost me $18 after Oct 30. So, I'm wondering if I switch to the 1 GB $18 plan now, will that be subjected to a price increase too.
09-19-2025 04:18 PM
yes @ld_in_on1
the morning excitement could be just as system glitch or human error. My couple plans over $18 no longer able to access the $18 - 1GB plan.
But it is still available for $13 and $15 subscribers.
So, the lesson here is.. when you see it, claim it first
09-19-2025 04:14 PM
Was there this morning, now gone!
Well that didn't last very long.
Also plans that were offered yesterday in the mid $30 range are all now $40+
09-19-2025 02:58 PM
@hTideGnow Good to hear that PM is finally giving it's customers more options to downgrade to almost all of their cheaper plans but most likely it will be removed before most (those who rarely check their accounts/community) that might be interested in doing so.
I believe the $18 plan was available 2 or 3 days ago (at least for those on the $15 plan) but it only showed 500 MB data so that's been upgraded today too but probably only temporarily based on PM's last couple of years of MO.

@hTideGnow wrote:HI @Yummy
I think for people who wants to jump from 500Mb to 1GB, this $3 extra is well worth the spent
Well, if you look it that way you might be correct as 200MB add-on (Canada) cost $5.00.
09-19-2025 12:17 PM
I see the $20/1GB plus $27/20GB Canada LTE options available but staying with my $29/20GB CA US MX plan

09-19-2025 12:07 PM
There is no option for this under subscriptions for me. Cheapest is $23.
