Hi,
I have a Canada-US plan which includes data for both Canada and US as well as unlimited Canada and US wide minutes and messaging.
I'm roaming in the US now, the data portion works fine but I can't make or receive any calls. Is that expected? Can I only make and receive calls while in Canada or does this plan also include calls while roaming in the US? I assumed I'd be able to make and receive calls while roaming in the US.
Thank you,
Abi

@Abi36, if you are planning to keep the Canada/US plan long term be sure when you upgrade your phone that it is on PM's white list, having a phone that is VoLTE capable is not enough, it should also be on the whitelist as well which unfortunately is not a long list for Androids. Most newer iPhones (iPhone 8 and newer) are on the whitelist.

@Handy1 Looks like that worked! Switching to 3G and manually selecting T-Mobile fixed it for me.
Thank you again!

My phone is quite old, I've got the Pixel 3. It looks like that is not on the white list unfortunately.
I'll try to set my phone to 2G/3G and see if it works. If not I'll take the loss for now until I upgrade my phone, which is pretty much due for an upgrade.
Thank you!

@Abi36 Yes that plan includes roaming and includes calling texting and data in U.S. and Canada . But What phone you have ? Is most likely issue with voLTE if it’s not in the voLTE white list it will be difficult to make calls
VoLTE white list

if not on the list all you can do for voice is phone set to 2G/3G and connect to T mobile but that’s not certain to work either for voice
