Locating lost phone with SIM card?

My daughter lost her phone and I am wondering if there is a way to get a last known location based on the SIM card?

I'm unable to log into her google account to do find my phone because the phone itself is the 2fa. I should I have put my own phone as the back up 2fa but I didn't.

Mostly need to know if it's possible to get an idea of where it might be based upon the SIM card. Otherwise I think I'll probably have to disable the card.

Any help is much appreciated.

The services to help find a lost device aren't based on the SIM card necessarily being in a phone.  It's based on the device connecting to the internet (any internet connection).

@LiamHJ last summer my wife and I found a new model Samsung Galaxy phone while we were out. When we tried opening the phone to contact the most recent person the owner had texted or called the phone was locked so we were stuck. Shortly after the phone we found began ringing and we were able to answer it without a lock password and it was the phone's owner! We were able to meet up and return the phone back. Have you tried calling your daughter's phone, might work for you?

You can login to account and click on Resend Code/Didn’t Receive Code and have the 2FA code sent by email.

Once you are in her account then click on Account tab>Report Lost/Stolen Device to pause her account and service.

Once she gets her new phone and SIM then click on Change Your SIM Card to continue service on her new phone.

nothing like that will work, I'm afeared. You should get a new phone and PM sim, log in to her account on the app and Change Sim number. If the new phone accepts esim, you can get one for gratis.
