Canada US Plans

My Wife & I both have Canada - USA plans. We are in the USA now. She uses a Samsung S20 Ultra 5G with a physical sim card and I use a Samsung S21 with an e sim. My phone works flawlessly in the USA but my wife's Samsung S20 will not allow her to make or receive calls (Data & text work well). Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so is there a fix for this.

Thanks for any help you can give me

Your wife needs to enable VoLTE (voice over LTE) and enable Roaming on her phone then manually connect to AT&T or T-Mobile on her phone settings.

Settings>Connections>Mobile Network enable VoLTE calls. Then to Network operators>Select automatically or Select manually.

As data and text messaging are already working, roaming must already be enabled and a working US network already being connected to.  When a customer has already reported that datra is working in the US, there is no reason for a customer to check on the data roaming settings.

The S20 is not on the VoLTE whitelist, and because the US shut their 3G networks down, you can no longer fallback to that to make phone calls. Text and data are unaffected, but unfortunately the S20 will need to be upgraded if it's important for you to make phone calls while in the US [with your Public Mobile number].

Roaming is enabled and I manually set the network to T mobile but I don't see where  to enable VoLTE (voice over LTE)

Hey @jmrwalsh

Make sure she has data roaming turned on. If the network settings is set to automatic, turn that off and pick T-Mobile as I found that to be the most reliable. As @BKNS27 make sure VoLTE is turned on.

Press the settings icon. Press Connections. Press Mobile networks. Press the indicator next to "VoLTE calls" to turn the function on.
