[Important Update]: Canada Post Strike & SIM Card Deliveries

Hello Community,

We want to inform you about the ongoing Canada Post strike that started on November 15, 2024, which may affect the delivery of new Public Mobile SIM cards. To ensure you receive your SIM without delays, we are switching to alternative couriers for the duration of the strike. This means that customers are required to sign for their SIM card upon delivery.

For detailed information on how this may impact your orders, alternative delivery options, and how to proceed if you have an outstanding order, please refer to our Help Article for more information.

  Sim card delivery can be 3 days to 3 weeks here

But best to ask PM support agent for status, you can  submit by direct message:

Better to ask if you can pickup another one from a nearby Telus or Koodo store instead of wait longer to have them resend a new

They say to wait 10 business days. If you do not receive the sim card within 10 business days you can contact them via the chat function. It works but it takes some time. 

@JiaAn  There is no tracking information but you can contact customer service humans at the link given several times in the previous posts.  Here it is again

You can send customer service a private message if the chatbot bottom right of this page is sending you in circles.  Just type in your question at the link below and keep checking your community inbox for a response, either at an envelope icon top right of this page, or tap your avatar for Messages if no envelope.  They usually respond within an hour or so but may be longer if they are very busy.

I have waited 9 days, also I don't recive any tracking infromation for my SIM card taht I bought. When Can I get it? The coustomer service is so bad, always robot robot tobot.......  Can I get refund, I don't choose your service.

I had some questions and I chatted with someone via the chat app within the app. Sometimes they are very busy and you have to wait a little bit. It's the chat with an agent option. At first there are some generic AI generated questions but you can be connected to a person.

Are you able to get in touch via text with their customer service to find out what's going on ? They say if you do not get the SIM card within 10 business days I believe to contact them. 

they should have sent via courier.  Ask PM to check 

You might not  be able to open proper Chatbot ticket, so just message them

It’s been 10 days since I’ve ordered my SIM card. What can I do? I’ve paid for the SIM card already.

Are you able to contact public mobile and ask them what your options are ? 

Yes they are using purolator. I got mine  within a week after ordering it. Alternatively you can go to a telus store in person and buy a sim card from there or somewhere else. Once you have the sim card you ll use that sim card serial number to activate the service.

I think they say within 10 business days. I got mine within a week after signing up.

I'm using a Samsung A15 

But I did order a new one through public mobile and I just read that public mobile in the face of the postal strike is using couriers to deliver them so I was just wondering if maybe I might be expecting it tomorrow?

Thanks for the help. Order the sim card on Amazon and it was delivered the next day. Everything is working as it should lol.

I referred my wife and the SIM card was at the house in 2 days. Strike is a none issue.

I'm going to arrange someone to pick one up down south and drive up north.  Its for my in laws and it'll be easier to switch a sim card out for them if they get a new phone.

@StewTim The iPhone 8 isn't esim compatible. Not sure about the Motorola, but if it's only 2 years old there's a good chance it is. To check go into Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs > Add SIM

Do you see an option to activate an esim?

Iphone 8 for one sim car

motorola for the second.  Not sure what model but a it's at least 2 years old

 

@StewTim If getting service is a priority, do what you need you to do to get it up and running, and worry about a refund later. I'll ask again: what phone are you using.

@StewTim  Even though you pre paid for the plan it won’t start until you activate the sim card on the PM app so you won’t lose money no worries
