Meet Public Mobile - Community
Canada’s largest mobile network for the lowest possible price.
Plans with 3G data may reach download speeds of up to 3 Mbps, with the coverage and reliability of the LTE network. Speed and signal strength may vary with your device, configuration, Internet traffic, environmental conditions, applicable network management and other factors.

@Mozzy17...does this help to answer your question ? 😎

PM is budget provider. Clients choose PM to have 'emergency phone' with low cost for unlimited SMS and calls with Canada wide network coverage.
If you are looking for fast and unlimited Internet, PM is not exactly for you. Even the most expensive plan with 15.5GB will eat your data fast if you use your phone to watch movies, youtube or play graphic intensive games.

@Mozzy17 PM is not even true 4G speed yet.
With PM, the 4G speed is capped at 3Mbps.
Even with the Big 3, they are just starting with the 5G. I don't see PM on a 5G until 5G network covers everywhere.

PM is a third tier provider. Only the top tier providers like Telus, Rogers, and Bell offer it but there is limited coverage. It will take several years for networks to offer full coverage.

Public mobile is a lower cost, no frills type of mobile company. Not even true LTE speed and not 5G. It does not look like anytime soon that Public mobile will increase data speeds.
Might need to go to the big three for 5G ie. Telus, Bell or Rogers.
