Why are current customers getting screwed? Why is it that current plan owners cannot downgrade their plans from a higher price point to a lower price promotional plan.
Public Mobile this is extremely bad business practice!

@shelly202323 Good on you! I've been doing the same thing and I will also file a complaint with them. I really wanted to get the $29 20GB CAN-US-MEX 5G plan, but after much discussions with their customer service agents, they said no. And it doesn't make sense why if this is a pre-paid contract that we aren't allowed to "downgrade" or even see all the plans they have to offer. The fact that they are limiting what customers have access to should be illegal. Everyone should file a complaint with CCTS.

Good luck @shelly202323 , but I am pretty sure your complain is going no where
you misunderstand meaning of prepaid, prepaid means you can leave anytime with no contract. Allow you to downgrade or not has nothing to do with prepaid
also, it is not entirely true PM does not allow downgrade. Many see plans to change that are less than their current plan amount, PM just use targeted marketing and offering you some plans they think fits your situation.
Looking forward to hear good news from you, but if you only come back with good news, likely we won't hear from you again

I filed a complaint with ccts. I gave Public enough chances to do the right thing. This is a prepaid service and everyone should be allowed to downgrade their plans if they chose to.

Interestingly when someone posted a reply suggesting filing a ccts complaint (with link) the reply got deleted. However I can report that when we replied to the PM message saying that this was our intent they waived the "no downgrades" policy.

You could probably cancel and switch to another provider and then come back when you see a deal. I noticed the deals are usually on black Friday week or boxing week. I initially signed up after black friday because they had a $35 plan US/CAN/MEX for 50GB. Then on boxing week they had the same price but with 75GB with 1000LD minutes. I was able to change because it was the same price but I was not able to downgrade to their 20GB plan US/CAN/MEX plan for $29 which is probably the one that I really want but it's only $6 difference.

The $30 / 20 gig plan was the one to make me wish I could downgrade. Ended up staying when they bumped it up to 35$/75 gigs. Now i'm just going to never switch on wifi lol .

Just found a cheaper option to port out and then port back to gain access to all PM plans. Fizz mobile: free eSIM + cheapest plan $8. Link below:

Yup that's another way. I'd suggest Lucky Mobile. Free esim and $15 for their cheapest plan.

Try porting out to No Name Mobile temporarily (get a SIM card, now at $2.5, at any No Frills store with lowest plan cost $19) and then port back as a new customer to get access to any plan you want. So the only cost is $19+$2.5=$21.5.

Yep, this is an awful policy.

@Anotherpaul778 Yes because it's still less money per 30 at cycle, so they don't allow it. The $30 plan seems to be an exception and will unlock plans over $30, but not under.

I also tired to downgrade my $34 50gb can us plan from last year to the lowest plan which is the $30 20gb 4g plan. I never go over 5gb per month so no worries there. I thought once I downgraded to this $30 4g plan I will be able to join the $29 20gb can us Mex plan. But no dice. Just FYI.

@Yogen Because unfortunately PM has made it harder to downgrade plan price and just wants to see people upgrade plan price . You could always port number out and back in on newly created account with new sim and email to get desired plan

why i can not change plan from 30 dollars to 23 dollars thats not right if i go freedom then you loose custmur

@shelly202323 I understand your frustration and its not easy to downgrade plan price but their is a option for some to do grad plan price to $30 plan for those that are on $34 plan or higher but not as many option as before when we could switch to all plans offered like the $15 and $25 plan that are no longer offers anymore and public made so most choices are to upgrade plan price . But if you look carefully there should be an option to downgrade just won’t be as attractive or as many options as what we. used to have . But if you have $30 option you can change to it immediately and then should see the $35 75GB MEX roaming plan available to change to for next renewal to take advantage of that offer that I belive is the very best value offer public mobile has ever offered . But if your on $30 plan you won’t be able to choose anything less expensive as PM see $30 plan as low cost option to begin with so the $19 plan and $23 plan won’t be available and only for new activation or those still on the old $13 plan or $15 plan will see those option available unfortunately

Since this discontinuation of the legacy rewards program there is very little incentive to keep up our tenure anyway. If you really want a plan that isn't available to you, port out to Lucky Mobile temporarily and then port back as a new customer to get access to all plans.
What plan are you on and which one are you trying to get?

@shelly202323 you're correct! Unfortunately Public Mobile doesn't see these messages only customers.
They only allow you to switch to offers in Your Account.
But every business does this.
