Hello all,
New PM customer here. I got an ad for a $50/mo Canada-US plan with 40GB - seemed too good to be true, but after reading the fine print, I understood it to be true. I can use my plan in the US to call US numbers and also use my data as if I'm in Canada. I was paying $50/mo for Canada-only and 25GB. I don't use all the data, but travel to the US relatively frequently, so the extra $10/mo was worth it for me.
I have a trip coming up and want to use this plan in the US. I want to confirm the following:
1- I can use the data in the US, simply by turning on roaming and using it as I would at home WITHOUT roaming charges.
2- I can call US numbers while in the US with my Canadian plan.
From the sound of it, it's a relatively new plan, and I wanted to make sure I understand the terms. Attached is a screenshot from the terms and conditions. Thank you in advance!

Just what I needed to know. Thank you.

Warning, when they say "5G speeds" they mean only 5G. So coverage is terrible anywhere outside big city centers. LTE data does not work.
In my experience of a month in US, I had data only very occasionally and intermittently. On previous trips with same phone I have used a prepaid AT&T SIM and had way better coverage for a lower fee (albeit a different phone number). Next time I'll go back to that method.

I got the newer version of this plan (for bring your own device): $34 for 50gb in both Canada and US. Bonkers good deal. So nice to see Canada getting some reasonable phone plans.
When I got to the US for the first time, my data did not work on my iPhone 15. Even with roaming on and adjusting my APN settings to sb.mb.com. What made the difference was that my Network Selection was set to Automatic and was connecting to Verizon, which isn’t a PM network. After I turned off Automatic and changed to T-Mobile, it worked great. I understand that AT&T is another option, if needed.

Can you call Canada from the USA w/I charges

@Frankandernest- It's more likely that your phone isn't enabled for volte here. Do you know if it has been? Without volte you'll get no talk in Alaska.

I purchased this in order to go to Alaska....but the talk didn't work on 5 G ... texting and data were ok but no talk... May have been that my phone was not capable of 5 G but can't be sure of that or was it just Alaska...phone is Galaxy A8(2018)... Last year PM sold me a plan that didn't work in Alaska as they got rid of 3 G

Hello!
I did end up going with this plan and it works seamlessly. Simply turn on roaming when you arrive in the US and you’re good to go! Simple enough, and while I thought it was too good to be true, it actually is true!!

@mo27 did you end up going with it and testing it in the US?
I'm also curious about this plan and how it works! Thanks for starting the conversation!

you read it right.
Another option; PM has a 15 Day US talk/text/3GB data package for $30.
BTW...there's never any added roaming charges with your PM account. As it's a pre-paid service, you only get what you pre-pay for. You'll never get a surprise bill for something you didn't want.

@mo27 You read it right it’s real and limited time so bet while you still can and yes you can call the US and back to Canada from the US with that plan. Good for use in both countries talk text and data
