Can’t upgrade to 4g plan?

Hi all - I currently have a 3G plan with old promotions (super gutted this is changing….). 

I was looking to upgrade to one of the 4g plans since my phone (iPhone SE 2020) doesn’t have 5g capabilities. But when I go to change subscription in my account it only gives me options for 3G and for 5g. When I try to begin with the plan and then login, it sends me back to my account to change plan subscription there (which again the issue is I can’t see the 4g plans!). 

Am I crazy? What am I missing here? Appreciate the help.

I’ve read about this happening to some people on the Reddit forums. 

I’ll probably leave public mobile because of the change in rewards and the lack of ability to upgrade to a reasonable plan. 
There are other options available for cheaper and better plans. I’ll try them out and if I hate them it’s not like I’m losing anything from PM since I’m already losing my rewards 🤷‍♂️

Not true. Both my husband and myself have 3g plans with the same phones and the 4g plans are not offered to me but my husband does have the 4g plans offered to him. Seems to be a hit and miss here. He has also received text offers but not myself. He is upgrading now. Funny thing is.. I referred him..

Depends on your model/age of phone.

Older phones will not see any increase in speed.

This may be used to force you up to a newer phone.

( apple slowed older  batteries to encourage customers to buy new. A class action was the result of their approach.)

That seems silly. But I suppose that’s the reason 🤷‍♂️. Appreciate the response.

@Russtynail7   The 4G plans are all for new activations only, which is why you don't see them.

Appreciate the response. I understand that my phone will work with a 5g plan. But I’d rather only pay for the 4g plan. Which isn’t an option under change my subscription.

you don't really need a 5G phone to get 5G plan.  They are just 5G speed plan that give you better speed

any subscribers can use 3G 4G and 5G network just the speed will be different based on the plan

so, you can definitely choose a 5G plan and use your 4G phone for that, the speed will be close to the 5G network speed PM offers
